My friend uses his as a midrange, and sometimes as a side arm driver. It always astonishes me how well it flies and always leaves me saying "when Pigs fly"!

Working from "the hit" backwards.

Hit a new personal best distance today! I think I found what “clicked” a few weeks ago. I started from the hit backward today and slowly added the rest of the drive technique.
I used only my distance drivers in sets of 3.

3 drives working with backswing only
3 drives using one step and the backswing
3 drives using the full run up.

With this method it was easier for me to see where the errors were being introduced and allowed me to back up and correct them before moving on.

New Personal Best Distance!

I hit a new personal best distance milestone 2/10/2009. I had 7 Orcs out in the field (I’ll resist the cheesy Lord of The Rings reference) and by the end of the day I had each one of them consistently going past 300’. Up till now I could only hit it occasionally and the furthest one on the day was approximately 347’.

Pretty stoked at the moment! :)

Thunderbird Paseo Park, Glendale AZ

Played Thunderbird yesterday a course I had played about 18 months ago and haven't played since. It was greatly encouraging to see the difference in my score (11 strokes) since the last time I played it.

Thunderbird is in a largely dry wash basin so it's very open and many of the holes are less than 300 feet. Flagstaff in January

I was in Flagstaff a week or so ago and threw my first round in the snow. It wasn't long before I was singing the "Wish I had a sidearm blues."

The monthlies are not always on Saturdays, so I'll fill you in on all that I know of.
1st Saturday is Huntington Beach, 2nd Saturday is LM, 3rd Saturday is Morley Field, 3rd SUNDAY is Oak Grove, and you're correct about El dorado on the 4th Saturday.
Morley is the only time difference, it starts at 8am, whereas the rest will begin at 10am.
