Dilemmas

So, it's official, I earned an invite to this year's Amateur Championship in MIchigan.  Dream come true, prestigious tourney in my home state (I currently live in Alaska).  I can fly down, visit with family and friends while playing in a great tourney.  But, of course, my parents fly in to Anchorage on June 10th.  I've already decided to stay here to visit with my parents on their vacation, but I will admit to thinking about it for a couple of days.  I think I'm cursed for big tourneys.  I…

Garrrrr

I played the odds in regards to the cardinal rule of air travel and did not win. I put my bag in the luggage to accommodate a new carry on bag. I pulled out a few of my every day discs (including my putters), "just in case my luggage was lost." When I got to Anchorage I checked for my luggage and was told by the nice lady at the baggage counter that it was checked through to Kenai. Got to Kenai (I'm sure you see what's coming) no bag. Currently missing is my Revo Dual pack and the majority of… Continue

Teaching moments

I was pretty excited in February when I was asked to teach a group of 6-12 year old boys the fundamentals of disc golf. I started each lesson with two basic rules: Listen (follow directions) and be safe. They were rules one and one-a. I told the boys that if they were being unsafe they would lose their discs for at least 5 minutes. The first major safety rule was stay behind the first disc so you can't be hit.

Today on the course, one of the boys from the group spotted me…

Chris,

Thank you for the round here in Hilo Hawaii, we had loads of fun! My girls had so with your wife! If you ever make it down to Oregon let me know and we'll meet up for a game. And like wise if I make it back up to Alaska I'll have you show me the ropes there!

I see you are from Alaska, I lived in Soldotna for about 3 years, and around 20 years in Jueanu! I even have a old Kenai Eagle's Avira putter.

I only have a few of these disc's left that I am willing to part with, so if you want a set send $12 for the 2 discs and $3 for shipping to ripdiscgolf@gmail.com via paypal and I'll get them out right away!

Thanks for Helping Rip Disc Golf get off the Ground!
