British Open - Any More Entrants or Sponsors??

It's now just one month to go to the 31st British Open, and we have a few spaces left, as well as opportunties for sponsors. Would be great to have a few more players. The course is looking great, it just gets better every year! Details are at www.quarrypark.co.uk/british-openDerekSee More

31st British Open 2009

After some frantic activity last week, the new Quarry Park website went live late on Friday. The site incorporates the web pages and registration for the 31st British Open to be held on 11-12th July, 2009. It's part of the European Tour and we expect at least 10 countries to be represented. Should be great, all PDGA members welcome to come and play one of the oldest and most prestigious tournaments around.

Update on 30th British Open

Wolseley PLC have confirmed as sponsors of the 30th British Open, so we should have around €2000 or $3000 prize money. There's still time to enter, but with 59 people registered to play, you better hurry to grab a spot. Course preparations are coming on well, and we now have 4m x 2m artificial grass tees for all long tee positions. (that's about 13 feet by 6.5 feet)
Fundraiser discs have arrived and look sweeeet! Visit www.quarrypark.co.uk/open.htm for more details.

British Open at Quarry Park:- May 31 - June 1

I'm excited to tell you all that my course, Quarry Park, is going to host the 30th British Open on May 31 to June 1. This is a PDGA Eurotour event with €2000 payout expected (that's nearly $3000)

The course is being upgraded with new signage and it will have astro-turf tee pads on all holes. We are also borrowing some land on the other side of the river, so that we can have some longer holes. Quarry Park is a purpose built disc golf course, set in 15 acres of beautiful countryside on… Continue

Hi Derek!
Otfried Derschmidt and myself will come to the British Open in July. We will fly in to Luton Airport on Thursday, July 9 and stay until Monday morning. I just booked a rental car and a hotel room at the Warwick Ramada. I guess this is quite close to the course. We're looking forward to playing on this beautiful course of yours. Will there be directions how to pay the tournament fees in advance? I haven't seen them on the registration page. And, by the way, congratulations for the new web site design! Looks very nice. See you in Geneve very soon. Have fun! Bernd

Hey Derek!
Ya, gotta have a picture in front of he flags...chances are I may never get back there again! (my game is slipping...2 more points and I cam play AM1 - hahahahaha)I do miss the good old days - 2 divisions & womens.
As far as USDGC...No qualifiers in Texas this year and no cash to travel any either...doing more family trips instead.
Great pics of your course - love the sculpture!
Travel safe & birdie often!

Yes, the British Open would be nice, but I think I will not make it this year. There are no really cheap flights available, and I'll play a couple of local tournaments in May / June. I wish you a very nice tournament at your home course! Hope we'll meet at EC 2008 in Söhnstetten.
