2012 Charlotte Worlds

Who will be playing in this years Pro Am Worlds?   Better start saving some money, making reservations, and planning ahead to the event.   This will probably be the biggest event ever.   They have a ton of course's and being a Pro Am, there will plenty of competitors.

Thanks Gary,

I will be at Tuscawilla to join & support the Disc Golf folks meeting with the Zip line people this morning (wed. 03/14/12). Unfortunately, my brothers are are working this morning and will not be able to attend.

I am also writing to the city as suggested by Jamie, to show support for DG, & I am encouraging all my family and friends who enjoy playing DG at Tuscawilla to do the same.

Further, I will gladly do whatever else I may to help preserve DG as it currently is, at Tuscawilla.

In regards to your questions. In doubles we do random draw most of the time around here. Some leagues do a pro am random draw where they put am1 and pros into one group, am2 into one group and then am3 and 4 into a group. They randomly pair pros and am1 up with am3 and 4 until one group is gone then they pair the remainder of the players with the am2. It's a little more fair for everyone this way but we do have some people that get pissy if we do this because they only want to get paired with certain people and they wouldn't be able to durring pro am dubs.

As far as ctps go I like to see them on holes that everyone can reach. I find that holes that are right around 220 to 250 are the best. Not so short that pros and am1 don't have any trouble getting there but not out of reach for most players. I also like to put them on holes that reward a good shot ( heavy trees, major hyzer or Anhyzer).

Just thought you would like to know, I filled out a PDGA complaint form to Bryan Moore last night and he responded back today and they are looking into it. I have to reply back with more details. If Garrison kills me will you run the Brian Swift Memorial for me?

Gary,
Not a bad idea with the grill but the problem I see is numbers, one grill for what can be a turn out if twelve or fifteen is one thing but what if we have twenty five come out ? can’t keep up with that many on one grill. And how would we know how much meat to buy ? without a good count , may have lot of people sign – up the day of ?
But maybe calling the guy w/ the hotdog cart and get him to show up for two hr’s . but still don’t want to promise his any numbers .
