I was discussing the new version of Windows last night with some friends when someone pulled out this little gem, "If you want the newest version of windows... Buy a Mac 7 years ago, cuz thats how far behind it is."

Nice pics Donny. Great run we're on right now. Denver should be scared for this weekend.

I've found that since I started doing yoga again that my game has improved. I'm wondering now if there are any poses that are specifically beneficial to disc golfers. What have you found really helps your game?

thankyou for this valuable info. i'm considering getting either an xd, dart, or goblin and now the difference between a dart and goblin, i can tell what seems more suitable for my game. thanks again quick question: does a higher flex number mean ...

Different tops. Mako has a san marino roc top and the coyote has a rancho roc top if I remember.

I've never told a lie! Well .... sort of never:)

Ok, millimeters difference...if you like the Dart, check out the Goblin; if you like the Mako, check out the Coyote. I throw Innova, and others, but sometimes it seems they're almost too good at marketing...

Out of Town Monthly Tourneys

The last 3 weeks I've gone up to Orange County and played in monthlies at El Dorado, La Mirada and yesterday Huntington Beach. I'm steadily improving each time I go up. El Dorado was the first organized event I played outside San Diego so I was a little nervous, especially when I found out that they put me in the Advanced division. I shot even the first round which was good enough to tie me for 1st at the break. After a delicious BBQ provided by the hosts I went out and shot +5 the second round… Continue

La Mirada

La Mirada was the last stop on our disc golf/wine tour. We played the Lakeside course first and then moved to the back 18. The Lakeside course was very interesting. Lots of elevation changes, and the holes that shoot along the top of the ridge can drive a person insane. If you get a… Continue

Oak Grove

Oak Grove was my favorite course of the 5 we played over the weekend. It was supposedly the first permenant basket course which is cool. Like Evergreen, it is a course that requires many different kind of shots. The interesting thing about Oak Grove was the random baskets and tees t… Continue

Evergreen Open Space

This was actually my wife's favorite course of the entire trip. I think she says that just because it was the only course where she made a birdie! I really enjoyed this course also though. It was a lot of fun because it requires so many different kind of shots. I can't recall precis… Continue

Thank you for the congrats! It was very exciting playing on the top card... it was really fun. We even had a "gallery" of spectators that followed us around for a while (I made them turn around and not look every time I had to make a putt :-) It was nice having you guys stay with us when you were up here. You are very entertaining guests - I can't wait to see you on the Newlywed Game!!! See ya at the Team Tourney (if not before!)

An 18-hole course just about anywhere in Southern California would draw enough players to keep it busy all the time. So, applying a statistical analysis to a particular location anywhere near San Diego is like calculating which part of a sledgehammer will be most effective at smashing an ant.

So, here goes. An 18-hole course located in Mast Park in Santee, CA would draw from a population of 1,420,200. The number of disc golfers it would serve is only limited by its capacity. Assuming groups of 5 players tee-off every five minutes for 10 hours a day = 4,200 players per week.

[For comparison, Morley Field (in San Diego) draws from a population of 1,534,351.]

Speaking of Morley Field, about 17% of the players at an 18-hole Mast Park disc golf course would be former Morley Field players. [This would reduce the demand on Morley Field by 12%.]

Also, 5% of the players at an 18-hole Mast Park disc golf course would come over from Sun Valley (in La Mesa).

A 9-hole course in Mast Park would draw from a population of 517,245. This could translate into 1,200 to 2,500 players per week. About 32% of the players at a 9-hole disc golf course in Mast Park would be Morley Field converts. [This which would reduce the demand on Morley Field by 6%. A 9-hole course in Mast Park would not draw a significant number of players away from Sun Valley.]

Details on how these figures were computed can be found on the Service Levels page of www.stevewestdiscgolf.com.

No it was a buddies champion green beast. The early morning departures man will be rough for me (i work nights) but I'm up for it.

Right now I'm all over my pro Wraith and champion first run Groove. Still trying to throw it as hard and fast as it needs in order to get out of it what it's capable of. If you don't throw the groove hard with a snap it just quickly fades.

I'm getting a DGA rogue for my membership disc, curious to see what that can do..................
