I look for Vibram soles and Goretex insulation. There are several brands that have given me good value, including North Face, Merrill and New Balance. The models change so frequently that I never get the same pair twice, so it's frustrating. Agai...

Just got back from a weekend of discing over there. Blue Ribbon Pines, East Bethel. 27 holes, amazing. It costs $5/day. There are some other fine courses, but most suffer from erosion and vandalism, and some are just too crowded.

It is a tricky situation on when we will be back...classes end June 16th, and our lease is up at the end of June, but with Phish playing at Alpine on the 20th of June we aren't sure exactly when we will be back...If you can make it out here before July I would say we will be around, but aside from that I am not sure entirely...

Thank you for participating in my discussion.
A new course can be done.
A new course is made in Japan little by little.
However, there is only one course in local (9 halls), and I want to do a little more.

After that, please visit the following club if it is good.

Winter leagues

In an hour I'll be heading over to Wazeecha for doubles leagues. One of the regulars has stationed his ice fishing shanty right off of hole 7, so we'll have a heated place to take a break. (not that we need it today - it's going to be a balmy 18!)

Then it's off to the Central Waters brewery, then a Willy Porter show. Hard to complain about that!

Treehaven - Matching Baskets program

I just submitted a request to the Disc Golf Foundation under the College Matching Baskets program.

The program will match the purchase of up to nine baskets, if the course is on University property and available for the public to play.

I am very optimistic that something good is going to happen...

Justin Trails!

I finally got over to Sparta, WI to play the courses at Justin Trails. There are two courses at this pay-for-play facility (just $5 a day!) and they are worth the trip. It is a fully functioning farm, with cows, llamas, corn and hay, plus they run a bed and breakfast.

The classic course is a very nice advanced course. There are tons of elevation changes and some breathtaking backdrops. The holes are challenging and varied, and there is a nice flow to the course. A couple holes could stand to ha… Continue

Wazeecha on Wednesdays (AKA the funnest leagues in the land)

On Wednesday nights in Wisconsin Rapids, Nacho runs a random draw doubles league at Wazeecha (Willow Run). $1 goes to the course, and the rest is paid out to the winners. Most weeks there are 30 or so players.

I don't know what it is, but these are the funnest leagues I have played in, week in and week out.

This past week a local bar sponsored us, giving us some free pizzas and beer tokens. About 15 of us hit the place up for four hours of revelry. Here's hoping that can be repeated!

A few ye… Continue
