BTW, Lasky Rec Center was the 1st ever disc golf course installed in Detroit even though its as if you are standing in a school playground throwing at some baskets. It s a course and it is in Detroit.

That is fine with me. I called down to the Parks Department today and as I expected, Lawrence "Happy" Hemingway left with the old regime. I can tell you Lawrence was extremely nice to work with and was very interested and helpful in getting the co...

So, does anyone have a preference where we should disc-uss this topic more: here or the Facebook page? I am all for not duplicating general discussions. We can post important milestones or info at both locations.

Hi Matt, yes, I got the image on your next to last post, thank you. I talked to the Detroit Park super and I am in the process of outlining an e-mail to her with a few ideas. I will send her the image as well hoping they can get someone out there to fix basket 8 as soon as possible.

Regarding Belle Isle, like I expected I was met with a little resistence as soon as I began to discuss the park growth overall in Detroit due to budget cuts. Before too much was said regarding the city investing any funds which they do not have I informed her that the recent course in St. Clare Shores was entirely funded through community work and the city spent next to nothing. This shed a new light on the discussion but the light was barely a flicker. There is much to do. The initial thinking was to possibly rethink the previous model and create a temporary course just to see of the idea has any legs. I will keep you posted on any communications but I am not sure we will hear anything until the new year due to current budgets and administrational transitions in the political offices as the newly elected officials find their way.

Hey John, here is that pic. I erased your email on accident so I just sent this way. If this dosen't work, I could send it by email, I would just need you to write me with it again. Thanks, and talk to you soon.

Hey John,
I hope all is well. I played at Jane-Laskey today for the first time, and had a blast.
I only played one round because I was in a hurry, and took a boogie on the shortest par put youve ever seen (BOO) Oh well I still had fun, and finished one over. #8's basket is broke, I took a pic on my phone, the basket came apart at the welds.

Talk to you soon.

Happy Birthday John. I live and work in the city of Detroit, and would love to be involved with the development of a coarse on Belle Isle. I hope to stay in contact with You about this topic. If I can become a member of the Belle Isle Dsic Golf Club that would be great. Thank You for your time and have a great Birthday!!!!
