I bought an eight year old a DX sidewinder! He is stoked.
The Innova soft basket has a cloth mesh material along with chains that catches disc suprisingly well, almost better than chains alone. I like it because its makes a lot less niose for sleeping babys and campers.

Same as most... just keep a routine, use the same kinds of putters, and don't overthink it... chances are, you are good enough to hit the putt the way you know how. Don't over think it and talk yourself out of something you know will work.
