I have tried backhand rollers with little success; with that said, sidewinder is the most consistant backhand roller while my flick works very wel forehand. I get so much more distance with less physical exertion that I would be wary to put this a...

As a new player to the game (2 years) I have no trick shots in my bag other than a shabby forehand. But I WAS wondering about your roller. If you can't throw your roller holding it your intentional way...due to wind etc. Could you throw it the opp...

This is advice from an old guy that an old guy gave to me when I was still young: If you are young, work on your air game and save the roller game for when you are a better player. For what it's worth, I didn't listen to him, either.

I bought a glow disc the other night at CJ's. $20 and it lights up on the outside ridge. It turns over so I've been throwing it as a backhand roller. Works great. It is still difficult to know what it is going to do, but I figure if I keep trying ...

six inches of rain in seven hours of disc golf. The whole day was one big water hazard (not to mention the lightning breaks). needless to say, the discs were not flying well. I threw three in on the same pond shot because there was no drop. Alread...

roller evoultion

So, I have been working pretty consistantly on them and they have become a part of my competitive game, but they are so finnicky. I have been forehand rolling with my flick (and every so often with my avenger if I want less distance). What I need to figure out is how crosswind will affect my shot. Sometimes I think it will hold my shot up only to have it turn over. Some of my best rollers have been in 15-20 mph crosswinds, and also some of the worst. with no wind I am getting solid distance on a… Continue

Friz' 09

Boom boom train with the chili peppers... sweet times! the Gorillaz were kickin' it and NIN was just on the other side of the darkness. Props to Carpet and PeeWee for the sound system; I took advantage of it. My dreds were looking fine in form and my dyes were SIC! I wore a lot of cookie and nicole's dyes (Ponca crew rocks). No dyes from the friz though:( I did manage to snag one of the few frizforever shirts so all is good). Rain, rain, go away; and it did just in time... for the weekend. I had… Continue

The forehand roller I never knew I had...

I am pretty excited in the newest development of my game, a forehand roller. I have only been working on this for a few weeks and they already go as far as my average backhand or sidearm drive. the process started more or less as an exit strategy for sneaking out of the woods after a poor drive. Sweet! It worked and then some. Right now I am still in the experimental stages; I am working with my Flicks, Avenger and Xcaliber. I have tried my sidewinder as well, but with less success than my overs… Continue

DooDah was doodariffic!

Saturday was typical Kansas discgolf weather: Hot and windy with a high dose sun. Sunday was absolutelyl beautiful. The clouds rolled in just as we hit the heat of the day. could not have asked for better timing. The ACDGC did a great job of readying both Herman Hill and Oak Park. Something like $4,000 in added sponserhip including discs, snacks, coupons, and Pizza provided by Little Deb and Nick (Bunch Masonry)for all players Sunday afternoon. My drives were looking great all weekend, even with… Continue

consistancy is the key

I had a pretty solid round at singles last night. no cash, but I only shot one over my handicap (which is three strokes lower that I thought). My drives felt smooth, backhand and forehand. I only threw one UD which, as usual, was extremely consistant. I didn't miss a single put from 15ft in and only one or two from 20. I never ended up in the rough, very rare for 18 holes + kile. I am definitely itching for another round like it. maybe a few. The company was enjoyable; the weather was unbelievab… Continue

Greetings from www.waydowndisc.com in sunny Florida!

On behalf of Juliana Korver, I am happy to announce the 2010 La Vie en Rose, a women-only PDGA event and Southern Nationals qualifier that will take place February 13-14, 2010 at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, FL. As you may know, last year the inaugural event hosted 67 female disc golfers. This year our tournament field will be limited to 84 competitors and we hope to sell out.

Registration is now open and instructions can be found on the official tournament website:
http://julianakorver.net/rose/

In order to make the 2010 event even better for the women, we are reaching out to all those in the disc golf community that are interested in helping to raise the bar for our sport. Whether it’s a title sponsorship, a CTP donation, help with course preparation, helping to spread the excitement, or actually competing in the event, we certainly hope to be blessed with your participation.

For sponsorship opportunities, please visit:

or contact the Tournament Director, Shawn Sinclair at:

To keep current on course work days, please visit:

or contact me directly at:

or (727) 512-9696

Thank you for your attention. We’re hoping that in some way, whether big or small, you’ll be able to share a bit of your passion for the sport of disc golf with the ladies.

Yours in flight,
Mark “Denny” Ritner

Breast cancer month is almost over and my wife asks me to remind you if you've had a mammogram this year? She is a three year survivor and wants nobody else to suffer.

Thank you for the comment.
Whether it was possible to actually go to Tulsa at this year's world was examined.
However, it was impossible.
Utsunomiya City and Tulsa where I live are sister cities.
It is thought that it only has to be able to exchange it with Discgolf.

Ashlyn's all over me about the Frizz too. I probably can't play (shoulder can't handle more than 1 round) & I have KC that weekend. We'll have to see if I can get a sitter for 1 of the nights. I told Ashlyn I'd try to come stay the night & caddy for her the next day. Ya'll better be on the same card (Party Card!)

OMG- talk about nerve-racking! The officer said "word gets around" Then later he said "this isn't personal." It doesn't seem right that he can just pull up & start busting people! Guess ya'll better be careful; they're gonna be watching like hawks.

I know, we all get the tourets goin on, right? You and I aren't quite as loud/violent about it as Ashlyn. I just don't want her to have a bad time. She needs to keep up positive vibes to have a good time; that was more how the conversation went. She even admits to having an attitude problem.

I told her to get on here; she'd love it. Still waitin tho...

Thanks Kile...I will create a KDGA forum shortcut so that I can check the status of the Ace Race when that tourney rolls around...

Do you know of anyone from your area coming to the Drowning Creek Classic in Jay OK this Saturday? If so, if they have a portable basket tell them to bring it, I think Don is still looking for a few more baskets for the cow pasture.
