Rotator cuff

i have been having terrible trouble with my "arm" and went to the doctor and he said that what i was describing was a small "tear" or "pull" in my rotatot cuff. I love to play disc golf as we all do, but he said to lay off it for about 3 or 4 weeks and it would heel on its own. Any suggestions for playing sooner, like this weekend? Lol. Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated.Peace and love from TexasMattPANICFAN4LIFESee More

Mattpanicfan4life,

Mattpanicfan4life,

Neither Whippets or Leopards are midrange discs, they are drivers. Some players don't use midranges at all, just dialing back on power and throwing drivers for shorter distances. Midranges have advantages over drivers but take a lot of practice to master (especially forehand shots).

On a short shot a Whippet will give you a hyzer line and nothing else. If you want a disc for short range straight or anhyzer shots you need a different tool.

The 3 mids I carry in my bag are a Z Wasp (overstable), a Z Buzzz (straight) and a broken in X Buzzz (understable). In extreme winds I will add a Zone or a Drone to the bag.

Short sidearm anhyzers are touch shots. I might use a putter or mid or driver depending on any particular situation but generally my X Buzzz. I have recently been dabbling with a Z XL (driver) for some of theses shots and it is worth trying. It should turn to the left more easily than your Leopard.

For sidearm shots I strongly prefer flat top discs, they just fit in my hand better. There are domey mids I have tried and which are fine except for the dome. Comets, Meteors, and Glides are all Mids which will anhyzer pretty easily. Instead I use beat up Buzzz'z because they are flat topped. The X versions are less stable than in Z plastic and the D versions will break in faster than any candy blend. In will take years to break in a Z Buzzz.

I think the Buzzz is one of the best discs ever made. The Wasp is just a Buzzz with a bead making it more overstable. Play catch with a Buzzz, Wasp and a Magnet and you will learn how to shape those short, precise shots. Good luck

Mark
