Hawai'i, The Big Island

We are down to two days before we leave for the big island and I can't wait. I'm not really looking foward to the plane ride but I know it'll be worth it when we get there.
My wife and I are going to celebrate our eleventh anniversary. We were going to go to St. Johns last year but the economy tanked so we decided to wait and see what was going to happen. Now, with all the stimulus and buy-outs etc etc. we find not much has changed, other than the fact that we just got a year older. We decided n… Continue

July 4th Fundraiser

As many of you know, last Saturday, June 20th, two baskets were stolen from Weatherford DGC.
At this time we only have 174.00 in our course fund due to the recent transfer of over two thousand dollars for cement teeboxes. We cannot afford the replacement costs at this time so instead of the normal mini on Saturday, July 4th, we will be running a fundraising mini.
This will be a singles event with the ace pot in effect, along with CTP's. We will try to have CTP's for all eighteen holes if possibl… Continue

Oak Ridge Disc Golf Tournament 2009

This will be the only tournament held at Oak Ridge Disc Golf Course this year. It will be held on Saturday, June 27th.

This is a private course in Gainesville, Tx. The tourney will be two rounds of 28 holes. This course was designed and installed by a good friend of mine who has played open for many years and I consider it to be one of the best courses in the entire state. This tourney is an invite only so RSVP if your interested in getting on the list.

The entry is 40.00 for all divisions, wh… Continue

3rd Annual Play It Again Sports Open

Day one is in the books. I think the heat index had to be over 120 degrees. I'm not sure what is was exactly but I do know is was friggin HOT. It wasn't so bad when we teed off at 10:37am but it quickly became extreme. So extreme in fact that a couple of the Adv Grand Masters dropped out because of it. I hope you guys are alright Doug and Bill.
Our round took us just over four hours to complete and I have to admit it was a bit of a struggle down the stretch.
I took Propel packets and used four o… Continue

In the words of Hank Hill, "I'll tell ya what!"

I don't know how many people have paid attention to the weather in North Texas the last 24 hours but it's been pretty severe indeed.
Yesterday was Wednesday and we have a random draw doubles mini on Wednesday night. My buddy Barry called me around five asking if we were still having it and I told him I'd come out to the park and we'd have a beer and see what the weather was going to do.
When I got ot the park, there was five or six people waiting on me and the weather was just starting to get fi… Continue

You know what would be absolutley hilarious? If all six of us had fat suits and just pimped those around camp like we were gods gift to women. Get some funny video teeing off and instead of hi-fives, we could hug!
