A bit about me I guess (the disc golf part).
I started playing about 7 years ago as a student at UC Santa Barbara. The first course I learned to play on was the Isla Vista Peace Course, a small 9-hole course designed by Steady Ed, the founder of Disc Golf. It's funny thinking back on how I used to use an Eagle, my first driver--not a good choice for your first disc by the way, at this course and using it on 100-to-150 foot holes. I played casually at first, but it was soon apparent that it was becoming an obsession--evidenced by the fact I'd bike over to the Peace Course as many as 3 times a day (the course was 2 blocks away from my dwelling that was 30 yards from the pacific ocean), often times between classes.
After graduation, I did a one-year internship at the University of Kansas in their Sports Info office and had the opportunity to play some wonderful courses in Kansas and Missouri. Water Works, Swope, Rosedale and WyCo--all in or near Kansas City--are some of the best courses I've ever played to this day. Not to mention the courses in Topeka and Emporia.
In 2003, I was fortunate enough to get hired at the Air Force Academy in their sports info office and moved to Colorado. It seems I moved here at a great time because the number of courses in the state has doubled from 37 back in 03' to over 70 since. I've played in as many tourneys I could make and have met some like-minded disc golfers and played against some big-time competition.
I don't get to play in near as many tourney's as I'd like, but hope to get out to as many as I can in '08. '07 was my first year in the open division and I didn't play near as well as I'd like--consistency being a problem. I'm hoping to change that in 08.
You can find me in the Springs, trying to figure out the lefty routes at Sakuna Pines by watching Sk8.
