Rusty Pappas commented on AVMtnDiscMan's group Wizard Thrower Club
"Started with the KC Aviar, but it just didn't sit in my hand well. Picked up a Medium Wizard about 2 months ago, and haven't looked back since. In the bag now: 175 Medium (softer variety) for putts 170 SuperSoft for approaches and long…"

Be real. If your identity is a nickname, share your real name.
When did you discover and begin playing this best of all sports?
Summer 2004
City Where You Live
State or Province Where You Live
What is your "home" course?
Currently: Springlake Park, Texarkana, TX -- Formerly: Lester Lorch Park, Cedar Hill, TX
What are your Top Five courses?
Lester Lorch Park - Cedar Hill, TX (2 beautiful, secluded 18-hole courses)

Cedar Glades DGC - Hot Springs, AR (Incredibly hilly/wooded and EPIC!)

Lake Bistineau State Park DGC - Doyline, LA (another beauty...lakeside course with spanish moss-covered Cypress trees)

Harry Myers Park - Rockwall, TX (Another Houck course...well maintained facility with excellent variety and dual tees)

Bicentennial Park - Crowley, TX (One of the toughest courses I've ever played...3 tees on most holes...TONS of elevation and very unique holes)
How many discs do you own?
~110 (Mostly throwing stock...a few collector Rocs and other old discs)
What is your favorite disc golf-related website?

In the bag...

This is bound to change, but here's what I'm throwing right now:

Distance Drivers:
172/175 First Run Champ Orcs - pearly, flat run. This is my go-to distance driver when the wind isn't howling.
171 Star Starfire - overstable distance driver...good into a wind
175 Sirius Orion LS - 1.1 run...mainly used for big turnovers and rollers, but also a good tailwind bomber
174 CE Firebird FX - favorite Firebirds EVAR!! Mine is pretty well used, but still very overstable at low speeds. Just added a new one to the bag for stronger winds.
172 Star Maxx - only goes in the bag when the wind is super nasty strong.

Fairway Drivers:
174 CE Teebird - favorite TB...perfectly flat, nicely broken-in, dead straight and very controllable
175 Fly-dye 11x Champ Teebird - has a bit more high-speed-stability than my CE
172 Millennium Polaris LS - slightly understable, great for threading a tight fairway. Can get it on the same lines as my DX Rocs, but with more distance

175-178 "Ching" DX Rocs - I keep 3-4 in the bag at all times, in various stages of wear.
Various other DX Rocs - I have a stack at home that I rotate out depending on the course and how I'm feeling that day. Could be my b/w Big Bird Ontario one day, maybe a Sanny the next day...you never know :D
176 San Marino Q Sentinel - excellent overstable mid, perfect for shots into a wind or ones that need a strong reliable fade.
175 Champion Whippet-x - technically a fairway driver, but gets used as a VERY overstable mid...like playing disc golf with a lawn dart.

175 Soft / Medium Wizard - my go-to putters...I typically use the Medium for all my putts and short drives, and the Soft for approaches.
175 DX XD - this one only goes in the bag occasionally...used for very touchy, soft approaches.

Tentative 2009 Tourney Schedule

Playing in Open for the first time this past year kinda re-ignited my love for competitive play...even if I wasn't exactly competitive with all the players in my division each time :) Getting to play alongside some great golfers like Matt Orum, JD Ramirez, Chris Smith, Devan Owens, and many others this year showed me that I have a long way to go before I can make a name for myself in this sport...but I'm up for the challenge!

In 2009, I want to focus on playing more large sanctioned… Continue
