When did you discover and begin playing this best of all sports?
In approximately 1968 I played two or three rounds at the Oak Grove Disc Golf Course in La Canada California. In 2002 or so I played numerous rounds, maybe ten, over the course of a summer. For the next few years, I played ten to twelve a summer with various children and stepchildren. In September of 2006, with my evil stepchild Alice having returned to school, I found myself alone and at the disc golf course. As I got out of my car, I heard a voice say "Are you going out by your self? Can I join you?" I replied "sure. You can give me a lesson." At the time I was throwing a disc about 170 ft. with a big Anhyzer. Following 24 holes I was throwing 240 ft. straight down the fairway. In the last year and a half through the tutalage of Mike Henry, Mike Raley, and Kim Labay, I have gone from throwing 170 ft. to 320ft. On Sunday, I birdied # 4 on the Original, a 390 foot hole. In December I turned Pro and in January I made my first cash. I look forward to playing you. Today, March 11th 2008, I tied my best score on the Original 24 at Hudson Mills at 7 under par with 9 birdies and 2 bogys. My goal for 2008, is to be in the top ten in the Grand Master Pro Division. I'm not kidding.

Toe dragging. Solution found

Alright, I'm a toe dragger. I started dragging playing tennis. I continued with disc golf. My shoes never wear out on the bottoms, only on the tops. I like good, comfortable, water proof shoes. They cost about $120. So far, REI has let me take them back for new one's at no cost five times. I haven't bought anything else there. I'm a bit embarrassed taking them back every few months. I decided I can't do it again. So, I came up with an invention for toe draggers. Combining the forces of gutter… Continue

I want my legend back

If you happened to pick up my blue Legend around the practice tee pad of original Hudson Mills, Saturday around 6:15 PM, that disc was not forgotten, but left to be picked up in a few minutes, after I talked with Angel. Four of you were returning from a round and I had the thought that I hoped you hadn't grabbed my disc. Yet you had. Return it and I will give you a disc that you throw. I have lots, just want that Legend back. Thanks.

It is often good to play.

I am taking a break from doing taxes. I would be playing disc golf, but I already used that excuse earlier. So, now I am just blogging. I know it cannot be emphasized enough, because people are kind enough to point these things out to me, and after 2 1/2 years I am getting some of it. So, here goes: 1) if the only way you can win is working someone, then so be it. If you were bullied when you were a kid, and then into high school, and your now 40 or 50 and you are not over it, get over it. 2)… Continue

Hey Steve, David Bihl Here, fellow Michigan man. I see you spent time on anna maria island in florida. Can you give me a heads up where you stayed and what you thought about it. My girlfriend and I are planning a trip and of course recomendations and guidance by discgolfer to *cool* spots is always a big advantage. Thanks and see you on the links~
