The less you try to force the disc to spin the more spin will be created. I've noticed that when I try and hold the disc as "comfortably hard" as I can I achieve greater spin. It is a mis-conception in my opinion that spin comes from a wrist "acti...

Andrew - thanks for the tourney Sunday. Bring some discs to the WOXI after party at Calapooia and set up - I imagine you'd have a good crowd of interested buyers.

Christian came from MT and took the state title along with a lot of cash. Sorry you couldnt make it. As usual this tournament was all inclusive. All the food and drink you could imagine and that wasnt the Saturday players party. The ND winds didnt fail us either, it played a great part in the high scores. Darrells record is a 51 on the course. I think Christians best score was a 59. Nothing is posted yet but had 100 players show up from all over.

Hey whats the word are ya coming. The Millstream Open is this weekend for me. Next weekend is the North Dakota state. Any word if you can make it. Darrell seemed pretty excited to here some guys from the west where going to make it. It struck Darrell by surprise when I told him of Tim's passing. He spoke very fondly of him. Darrell has been over whelmed with his job and the new course. Plus dont forget the serious sponsorship he and his Dickinson, ND crew has raised. This course will be one for you to tell stories about for sure.... If the wind picks up and it will game on!

Earth Year 2009 "The Steady Pace of The Ox"

The Ox is the second sign of the Chinese zodiac. Like its predecessor and complement, the Rat, it signifies new beginnings. The main difference is the Ox is associated with building to last and slow but sure action. Even more so than last year we all have to make good choices, as that which is begun now is likely to have long term consequences.

As with last year, this is an Earth year. The difference is this one is yin rather than yang. It is thus likely to be less tumultuous. On a personal lev… Continue

**We Will Not Be Swayed**

Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.
Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow.
-Langston Hughes

This poem produces many reactions from me. I gather that, if one does not have any aspirations in life, then there is little purpose to it. I love Disc Golf more for the possibilty of a very bright future. I, like most people, started playing Disc Golf for the shear fun of the game. Soon thereafter my competitive fir… Continue

***DiscGenerates***

What is there to do about those who do not respect our game. Those who are out there just to see how many beers they can drink before falling on their face. I have come to grips that the game I love, for the most part, is at least 10-15% "fun" players. Those who use Disc Golf as an outlet for their stupidness. These few are giving the rest of us a bad name. By the rest of us I mean those who play as a profession, recreation or fitness. There are more players who care for the game than not. That… Continue

Year of The Ox.

The Ox is the sign of prosperity through fortitude and hard work. This powerful sign is a born leader, being quite dependable and possessing an innate ability to achieve great things. As one might guess, such people are dependable, calm, and modest. Like their animal namesake, the Ox is unswervingly patient, tireless in their work, and capable of enduring any amount of hardship without complaint.

Ox people need peace and quiet to work through their ideas, and when they have set their mind on so… Continue
