Chenault Disc golf : The local pitch and putt rich in history

For Christmas Eve I played 3 putter rounds at the local pitch and putt.  Most people who play at my home course make fun of it but in reality they just do not appreciate the history of the location.  Located on the east side of Monroe, LA, it is one of a few remaining object courses made for frisbees back in the 60's.  The "baskets" are somewhat large concrete "cups" in the ground with most shots ranging from 180-245 feet.  With an exception of a few younger cats like myself, the course is…See More

Weekday Rounds!

With day light being a precious commodity this time of year I seldom get to play week day disc golf.  However I have been blessed with not one, but two rounds so far this week!  It was a good thing too as this last round really helped me understand certain flaws in my existing throw.  At this point, my biggest issue is nose down. ( No I lie, my biggest issue is putting, but lets ignore that for now :) )  I can tear up short courses with buzzes and aviars, but distances out side of 350ft has…See More

Tracking Progress

It has been a long time since I have posted here.  I plan on tracking my putting practices here so I can be hold accountable for it.  I have been studily increaing my skill level and I am now placing or winning most AM tournaments I play in.  If I could work out my putt, I will be ready to move up to Advanced. Dec 20th - Putting 45 mins See More

This means your turning the disc over because your are imparting OAT (off axis torque) onto the disc.

Driver: Roadrunner Fairway: Leopard Mid-range: Beat up Roc Everyone is going to have their own opinion, but this is what I would personally use.

Great article. People often over-estimate how often they should hit 50' foot putts. For that matter, after 35ft the success rate drops dramatically for most players.

Knee feeling a little better

Went out and played @ the pitch and putt and got second in the random draw mini. Knee is still really tender and I can not perform a run-up. I can one step a Roc 280, which is the longest hole length at this course. My putting was dead on (buckets not baskets). We finished at 15 under. Given the near flooded state of the course, I can not complain with the results. I plan on taking it easy again this week. Maybe start getting in some putting practice Tuesday. If I feel good I'd like to play…See More

We kind of combine all of the ideas mentioned here. We have a handicap league and also play for bag tags and cash.

I run the doubles mini here at our local course. Do you guys do a completely random draw or do you try to make it fair? A lot of times if there is going to be an X man, we will group all of the pros together and let one of them draw for it first (An…
