Wordle.net is a fun site. It creates a visual picture of words based on the words you input or from a url that you supply. It has to be a site or address that has RSS support. I did this one with discgolfer.ning.com as the address.

It doesn't seem to allow you to save the image so I'll just post the link.

It's a good day to be alive.

Pounding on the door invades my dreams. Screaming and pounding, pounding and screaming. When I finally wake up I look at the clock. It's a little past 3:00 in the morning. Becky is heading toward the door. Maddisen is yelling having been startled awake. Most of the people in our building know that Becky is a nurse. It happens about once every two years. A knock in the middle of the night. Someone needs first aide or wants to know if they should go to the ER. But this was different. There was… Continue

Remembering USWDGC's of the past...

I've been going through photos of past USWDGC's in Peoria as I've been putting together photos and video for the Women's Nationals - The Peoria Years DVD. Anyway, this was a little anecdote that I remembered from 2005. The picture below of Elaine King is actually from 2007 but it reminded me of this encounter from 2005. Let me start off by saying that Elaine is a true sports professional and I have the utmost respect for her as a disc golfer, a human being and even a Canadian.

I took… Continue

2008 Worlds - The Great Shuffle vs. The Great Sort

I'm going to throw this out there right away. I HATE the term "The Great Shuffle". Now, I know what you are thinking. "Jon, with everything else in the world going on why would you worry yourself with the semantics of "The Great Shuffle"? Well, it's simple really. I have no solution for the problems in Georgia (the country, not the state...and let me tell you when I first heard that Russia was invading Georgia, my first thought was "How did they get past S. Carolina?") or Iraq or the economy or… Continue

Spectating the Worlds via the interwebs

I have been to three PDGA Worlds but never as a player. In 2000 I caddied for Bruce. In 2004 Becky and I were co-TDs of the jr boys pool. In 2007 I took a couple of days off from work and took pictures.

I'm sure it's an absolute blast playing in Worlds, but it is also pretty fun to just hang out at Worlds and watch and have fun. Having an interest in the 2008 Worlds but not being able to attend is a little bit like being offered a caffeine free, diet Coke. It may say "Coca-Cola" on… Continue

On various parts of a page, there are multiple RSS links. Depending on where they are on the page, the scope changes. The ones I see here on Jon's page are:
- Jon's latest activity
- Jon's blog posts
- and dgrus-wide latest activity
The other feed of interest to some would be the feed at the end of a blog post which (for obvious reasons) follows that blog entry.

Jon, if you really end up figuring this out, it would be GREAT if you would write a blog post about how to do it to help others understand it!

Jon, I can't find a way to do that. I'm asking some other people.

Oops, maybe Krupicka has the answer. I wish I understood what he said :)

If you want to know about things your friends post on here, use the RSS feed under latest activity. You can then add the feed to MyYahoo! or your personalized Google home page to keep tabs on your brother. (this is how I saw your question to Terry).

Somebody had to break the impasse.

I might send out friend requests to every Illinois, Michigan and Northern Ohio disc golfer on the system just to create a tournament e-mail group. But you're the first.
