Some of my friends like to build em
others like to play them
some throw many on just one hole
some always miss and hit the pole
many like to kick back and forget
about the time we almost quit
blood from the thorns is fresh on my arm
remember the hole that
used to play through the barn?
One day well be old and grey
the forgotten fairway far away
sure the website will hold your scores
show all your friends those silly fours
The cold winter… Continue

Seems to be the thing to do, so I figure I should give it a shot.
I was born and raised in Benbrook Tx and have lived just 3 min from the Mighty Z the entire time. It wasnt until december 2004 when a friend of mine asked if I want to go play disc golf. I said sure what the hecc. I played ultimate a lot so it cant be that hard, well it was of course, and from day one I was hooked! I found myself playing 4 to 5 times a weekfrom the first week. But… Continue

You know, outside of Greater Cincinnatians (for those of you who do not know, that includes NKY and Cinci) I would not think that too many individuals know about Idlewild Disc Golf Course. Since I have started using this site, I have found others from all around that have great pix of Idlewild and some even have it listed in there top 5 courses. This is amazing...
I am not the historical-type or someone who knows a lot of history of DG BUT I do know that it seems others are just in… Continue

I played Timmons after work today with Bill and Coop and I was absolutely terrible at +9. I missed 2 gimme putts on #1 and #2, then clanged one off the basket on 5 and rolled into the creek and clanged my next one off the basket for a 7. I also clanged birdie putts on #7 and #17. I wrung out long putts for birdies on 15 and 16 but it was a tough round. Of course a tough round of disc golf beats an easy day at work any time! I actually wasn't all that bad, but sometimes a little off sure wrecks… Continue

Played Gulley during and after the snow. It was me, DanH, and good 'ol Ken.
It was a pretty fun and WINDY round. Shot about +1, not horrible but not where I want to be.
I finally found a disc I think will be good and consistent for 8, a Pred. I had usually tried Trackers, but they go to far and get knocked down by the trees.
I threw the X avenger around and liked it pretty well. I think I should get an ESP and see if I like it.
I also worked my Sonic around… Continue

A young man had finally decided to move away from his families home. He ha packed his only possession, a little dinner plate, and left without a word. After many days of wandering, he began to starve. Suddenly, his nose caught fire with the smell of food. He ran and ran until he found himself in a bazaar of sorts. People were everywhere. His hunger panged in his gut.
"Free food for the guys with the orange hats," the bearded man yelled into the… Continue

Best Shot of the day: I tacoed my drive on #6 against a tree (Innova Eagle DX 150g). I think it went maybe 25-30 feet. Nice long upshot to throw for me just to get par. Whipped out my Quest AT 100m Lazer and ripped off what I thought was… Continue

I think I gotta work on my attitude when playing disc. Rather, I need to work on myself when I am doing anything competitive. I'm hard on myself. I mess up, and I get down on myself. I know I have always known that I need to work on it, but I never seem to try. I read a book this fall called "Golf Is Not a Game of Perfect." I figured it would relate well to disc, and it did. You'd think I'd start trying to put it into practice. Nope.
Played my first ever ice bowl today, the… Continue

I played the tourney in Sanford yesterday. My first round was great. I finished with 61 and did not have a single score higher than 4. Plus one birdie. Second round was a complete waste of my time. I shot a 72 with seven 5's and one birdie again on the same hole. I must admit by the time we where three or four holes from the end I didn't care anymore. I hate having that feeling because even at tourneys I am there just to have fun. Talk to you later this week.

Made it out to Lakewood for a bit of casual golf on a Friday afternoon. It was a bit chilly but there were a lot of cars in the lot when I got there around 3:30. I played on my own for about 5 holes then caught up with DRC, Getty, Bunny and Steve so I joined them for the remainder of the round. Still feeling pretty rusty from not playing but really happy to be out throwing with friends. Hung out in the parking lot yakking about politics until Sue drove up to kick everyone out.

Well, I'm 2 for 2 at Ice Bowls his year. Last week I won the Ice Bowl at Ford Park in Redlands, CA in a sudden-death playoff. Today was the Ice Bowl at Sun Valley Golf Course in La Mesa, CA, and I won the Advanced division, one stroke ahead of three other players and another stroke ahead of two more. The highlight of the day for me was playing on the lead card in the second round with my son, AJ. It was the first time we had ever been on a lead card together and I was very proud of the way… Continue

Two topics I hadn't anticipated covering in conjunction here... Mainly because I don't like writing about myself and my life for creative writing purposes. I don't mind writing about my own life as a log, but in terms of creative writing: it is really frustrating. I backed myself into this one, though. We were asked, for my Creative Writing course, to describe a recent event. Naturally I chose to describe the tournament I played in on the first. I did this without knowing that our next job… Continue

Fun in the wish it were sun. Its kinda wArm here. But the course is getting the best of most of the players. If to haven't played tom triplett, you haven't played a tough course. Schweb shredded as usual. 10 down first round. Ouch. After 12 holes of round 2, schweb is tied Aaron Thomas. The guy is 8 down. Hhrough 12. Ouch. Schweb will prevail. He always does.

Today was a great day for disc golf. It was somewhat chilly but still with the sun peeking out it was beautiful.
We started Mt. Airy at 0930 (I was late and Matthew let me know about it). Doubles were a great time, we split up based on ratings. Stick was my partner, poor guy.
Hole 2, I must've seen one of the best shots ever. Stick threw his understable disc up towards the trees off the tee and it went all the way down the fairway and faded out for a 40-50' putt. CRAZY! That's… Continue
