So here it is. Thursday night, only one more day of work before a disc golf event. The alarm clock is set for 6. It doesn't matter how late I stay awake tonight, because I want to be sleepy early tomorrow. I probably won't do much at work, because my job pretty much consists of me avoiding the right people at the right time so that I can do the very least that is required of me. On the front lines morale is low. The day ahead seems like an uphill battle, a war much like Iraq, that can never be… Continue

The Ox is the sign of prosperity through fortitude and hard work. This powerful sign is a born leader, being quite dependable and possessing an innate ability to achieve great things. As one might guess, such people are dependable, calm, and modest. Like their animal namesake, the Ox is unswervingly patient, tireless in their work, and capable of enduring any amount of hardship without complaint.
Ox people need peace and quiet to work through their ideas, and when they have set their… Continue

I played the other day at Oshtemo and only got through hole 8 because the snow was up to my knees! I was so tired I had to sit down and than just decided to leave. Its hard to play in that much snow when your by yourself. I played all last winter, but this is like an ice age compared to last year. I cant wait for spring......I need to play more than once a week, this is killin' me.

We heard back about one of sponsor requests today. It wasnt good news unfotunately. Pepsi regretfully informed us that they would not be able to be part of our upcomming disc golf petition tour. Its not the end of the world though. We have many other proposals out that we are waiting for a response on, and we are going to prepare a few more to send out as well. If any disc golfers out there knows a company we should try please post it as a comment and we will check into it.
Our written… Continue

Didnt think I'd ever get into this, but it's kind of neat. Hopefully I can make some friends here and meet all of you in real life one day.

A big thanks to everyone who came out to the San Marcos Ice Bowl at Montiel Park on Saturday, January 17th. We had a full field of 54 players on a beautiful day, including players from Arizona, Nebraska, Missouri and Sweden by way of Las Vegas. Tony Ferro - there's a Montiel Park-stamped #2 Upshot on the way to you for being both the first entrant and the longest traveller (Tony already uses a #2 Upshot for his fantastic hyzer-flip putter drives).
Scores have been posted on pdga.com,… Continue

The Hampton Showdown
was my first tournament of the year. It was held on May 17 at the Hampton Rotary 4-Way Test DGC in Hampton, Iowa. Ten players showed up to play in this small, unsanctioned tournament that I ran. I shot even par the first round and a three under the second round. My 51 (-3) was good enough for a three-way tie for 2nd place in Advanced. Overall it was a great day and I feel I played pretty well.
My next tournament was the Northwood Open
. The… Continue

As this moment in time unfolds, I'm finding myself believing in this Nation for the first time since I began an education focused on our government. It's weird, it's hopeful. Perhaps my cynicism is finally cracking under the pressure...the pressure of Hope.
Here's to Hope! God Bless America!

Well it seems that hitting that proverbial wall is not as painful as climbing it. I have been working on my game as hard as my schedule will let me, and yesterday it started to pay off. I found myself playing the blue tee's at Trophy Lakes here in Charleston and did rather well. I started a little slow but managed to keep all my plastic in my bag and shoot 1 over which is a great improvement for me considering the last time i played the blues out there I threw 4 disc in the water and played 10… Continue

It wasn't suppose to snow today but 2 1/2 inches fell anyway. Seems to be the winter way around south central PA. Lancaster winter weather seems to be on the edge of lots of snow or nothing but slush and muck! Today was snow. You've got to love to play disc golf while it's snowing. Big or small disc golf, it's always a blast. Juddy, better known as Crink, showed up in his $250.00 Audi that smells like "old" from 15 feet away. We played the original… Continue

So since the snow first fell in December, I became obsessed with the sport all over again. I have been reading, and researching and reading some more. It's all I talk about at work, and with my friends. I practice putting in my down time, and I talk about building a new course near my job. I wonder if anyone else gets this way. As soon as something is denied to them, they go crazy for it. I have plans to play almost every day, and to take weekend trips to other cities to play other courses.… Continue

In an hour I'll be heading over to Wazeecha for doubles leagues. One of the regulars has stationed his ice fishing shanty right off of hole 7, so we'll have a heated place to take a break. (not that we need it today - it's going to be a balmy 18!)
Then it's off to the Central Waters brewery, then a Willy Porter show. Hard to complain about that!
