We've had a week of amazing weather here in Seattle, at least compared to what we often have in February. I didn't get out for DG nearly as much as I would have liked but I did make it out with my seven year old Quinn for nine holes at North Park early in the week. We drove up there to get a little exercise after his weekly violin lesson on Tuesday. Part of the way through our campaign against the front nine Lowell Shields joined us, if for nothing else than to demonstrate how to pick the… Continue

Packed and on the road a few minutes before my scheduled 10am Saturday departure for a couple rounds in North Georgia- trying to practice for a tourny in Blairsville, GA coming up in 2 weeks. Meek's Madness and I figured since they named it after me I should go (j/k, total coincidence). Breakfast was 2 cups of organic Colombian coffee and unfrosted strawberry Pop Tarts, followed by a cigar.…

I got started on the 2008 IOS # 2 trophy discs yesterday. We're using this geometric for IOS #2:
I cleaned off ten discs, about half of what I need and got stickers on those. Kelsey was away for the weekend so my plans to photo document the masking process didn't work out. Maybe later today we'll take some live action pics of how all those… Continue

I played 18 holes at Holmes today and finished at even par. I played the first four holes and ran into Ken and Lynn playing tennis. They said that they'd come over and play a round with me. I finished that round at -1. I hit the basket pole with my tee shot and birdied that hole. I parred everything else. Ken and Lynn were waiting for me at the fist tee box and we played 9 more holes. I started off by hitting a tree and going OB for a double bogey. Then I bogeyed #4 and #5 to go +4. I birdied… Continue

Well, I finally picked up a disc after 5 or 6 months. I threw about 20-30 tosses last weekend and then today probably threw 40-50 drives off a tee. It felt good and my back didn't give me too many problems, but I had no idea where any of those discs were going! :-)

Well last night I made my way from London city to Beckenham in Greater London. as the crow flies its not too far, but of course this place is so dense it takes a bit (20mins), not much really.
Got up about 7.00am this morning, had shower in a bath... yeah a shower in a bath. Not one of those 2 in 1 numbers, this thing is a bath with a shower head, and you take it lying down (kind of like how Arden does). Anyway jumped on the Croydon tram to Sandilands then changed to… Continue

So I've been pretty much failing as a blogger since the start of February. Only a few as the semester has picked up. Right now I'm pretty much just trying to live life and maintain my responsibilities. I do consider, unlike many people, disc golf a responsibility that I need to maintain time for. I actually did take a short week and a half vacation from the game but got right back on top of things a week before the Vienna Park Ice Bowl.
So thats where I'll start... I was playing… Continue

I love hot unbearable humid heat. this winter has been mild. Thank goodness for global warming, but I'm ready for summer and all it yields. Beer tastes better, discs fly longer and the wardrobe choices for the local females is much better. I can't wait for summer.…

Today me and a few buddies decided we couldn't wait any longer, so we broke out the ol boots and hit the snow covered course to see what we could do.
It was a great time. A couple of close Ace's, even one for me, but no cigar.
Everything was going great, till we decided isntead of going around to the bridge on the river, like we usually do, since it was frozen, we would walk across it.
I stepped in a hole on the bank, and twisted my knee pretty… Continue

Too crowded to practice dewobbling my sidearm. After the initial tree smackage ended my trying the sidearms through the woods, I had a very good round. I had a sidearm birdie and was let play through another group. Nice dialog. "Go ahead and play through man, you're throwing better than us."
"You've jinxed me now."
"No, I don't think I can jinx you."
That was followed immediately by two birdies from thumber drives. Sweet. I ended the round with a sidearm drive near the… Continue

Mostly all I did Thursday on the disc dying front is answer e-mail.
Jenny came over to help Kelsey with Calculus today. While they were doing that, Jenny peeled vinyl off the trophy discs. Thank you Jenny.
I got the Indians and Ohio State artwork to the sticker lady. I looked at the Chargers logo.
What I really need to do is go through the inventory and look for more trophy discs. I might be out. Going through the inventory is a cold job in… Continue

Today was a day of mixed emotions for me. Some really good things happened - the tee signs for our new disc golf course at Montiel Park showed up, and they are great. If you want top-notch tee signs, John Houck and Circular Productions are a great way to go. The signs are beautiful and we'll have them installed in time for Sunday's Ice Bowl, which is the inaugural event at the new course. I also received a box chock full of minis from Little Flyer today. The minis are a custom stamp that I… Continue

Ok I have a bad habit of walking out on at least 30% of the tournaments I play in, I admit that.
However I chose to make that decision for factors that you people may just not understand.
First off the only tournaments I quit are local events. Why? well for several reasons...
First off if you know me you know that I dispise the PDGA & Tier events. The reason is because they have gotten no fun for me anymore. I only compete in the Pro level & allot of times it's very… Continue

We had league today. It was just the four of us and Emily. Since the tees were buried we played improvised tees. It was about 20 degrees with crusty snow. Diana and I beat the girls, -3 to -1 for nine holes. Everyone was fine with picking up after nine.
After prayer at Lyle's I rinsed off trophy discs and Kelsey took pics. I thought I'd show you the basement where I spend so much time.
This picture shows the basic set up down there. The little snack tubs have different… Continue

Or could my wife possibly be right, I've taken disc golf too far. The snow is really getting to me. We normally get about 35-40" of snow over the entire winter here in Northeastern Wisconsin. With the last snow storm that left here a couple of days ago we're over 70" for the winter and we have another month or two left in the snow season. We received about a foot of snow in the last week and it's gotten to the point where I'm hanging up my quads until the snow goes down. Until then I'm left to… Continue

Had a great day today. I have the week off of school (I don't quite get why but I'll take it and so will the kids) so I got in three rounds today.
One normal round at Paco with Scott H. It was really odd. I had 2 birdies, one bogey and a -1 round. Lots of good pars and some great putts, except when putting for a 2. Oh well, it was great fun.
Then I went to Expo, but way of DL Discs for a new KC Roc, and played two rounds of speed golf. Just threw my new KC Roc and my… Continue
