A big thank you goes out to Bill Bullington and the Cotton pickin flyers for accomadating some new players that me and my buddy dylan brought over to mini tourney today. I realized something about young new players. They love to buy plastic. Lots of it. Bags, baskets. There thirst for knowledge and disc instruction is amazing!
They listen better than some stubborn older beginners. Tips fly out the other ear most of the time. I only give advice when asked. Im not one of those overload you… Continue

yesterday's buffumville (charlton, MA) ice bowl was fun, icy, sunny, windy, slightly unpredictable, and positive!
120 golfers participated, including 12 women... 10% of the field. the women's division had 5 teams... with women representing 5 states... that's like 10% of the country. YES, 120 GOLFERS!!! with the huge… Continue

I retrieved my star leopard for the second time after losing it on the same hole.....
Got this great sky blue star 175gm leopard with a real cool U.N.C. custom stamp that I got as payout from "bark at the moon". A great glow tournament hosted at Vienna Park by TADGA. Ever since the first throw I have had a kinship with this disc. I throw it on a lot of the shorter holes at my home course Rolling Hills.
It has also managed to get "lost" twice on the same hole. Number 15 at… Continue

Played it on the way to work saturday. Thanks for cleaning the Tees!
Shot -5 on the middle-tees for 9 holes. Beat my dad by 4 strokes!
Ended up being 3 minutes late for work but it was worth it. We got an insane ice-rain last night, nothing is playable now.

Got an Ace today on hole 18 of my local course "The Sinks"! My second ace ever! I was a stroke behind in my group and the Ace won the day for me! It's overcast here with rain and gusty winds so I was having an off day having 5'ed two holes back to back I knew this wasn't going to be my greatest game. Funny how an Ace on the last hole will turn that around for you!

Well realy not that tough because once again discing is a real fun sport and boy do I enjoy getting a few birdies ........ I had a 5 on hole one and numerous 4's but birded 7 out of 9 on the backside for a end up even over the round. Not great but enough to squeak out a tie so no bag tag loss ....... I didn't put any pressure on myself just played within my abilities to hit clean shots and set up successful putts for birds ....... I guess that's the way good player's do it ....... it was fun to… Continue

So today pierre, keegan and myself decided to head up to spoty about an hour and a half drive to hawk hollow to play some golf. We got there around 10 and headed out into the cow pasture to the first tee pad. The first pad happens to be about 60 feet from the cows feeding area, keegan stepped onto the pad only to somehow piss off a cow 30 feet away that decided to make a rushing attempt at us. So now we have to not only deal with the fear of cows trying to crush us when we step on the pad… Continue

My wife is Andrea and she runs a fiber arts business with her sister. www.mielkesfarm.com
We were married March 31, 2007 after I met here while she was re-enacting the 1770's ish.
She taught me how to spin fiber and knit a stocking cap :)
Grant arrived Feb 7, 2008.
This year I plan on dipping my toes into the Pro-Masters.
I got my introduction to disc golf many years ago with the St. Cloud, MN gang while I lived in Brooten, Mn.

I believe that the year was 2000. I had been planning on visiting a friend of mine, John Mick, in the Kalamazoo area to then road trip up to the Brewer disc golf course in Grand Rapids for a summer tournament. This had been in the works for a while yet, come tournament weekend, I was having issues with one of my knees and would not be able to compete. But I made the trip nonetheless, and so the story begins...
In Grand Rapids I spent the first round walking with the Am-1 group in… Continue

Coop and his nephew Ty and I played Gower tonight. I started off with three straight horrible tee shots - one side arm, one thumber, and one back hand that brought on three bogeys. I then parred the rest of the round to end up +3. I played the 2nd nine even with a birdie on #4 and a bogey on #5. Other than that it was non-eventful.

Or, at least I like to think he would have had an affinity for it!
Douglas Adams, that's who!
For those of you in the Not-Know category, Adams (who died in 2001) was a British writer who penned the cult classic The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy
, a 5-book trilogy, believe it or not. This hilarious and wildly inventive storyline follows the exploits of an Englishman named Arthur Dent, who awakens one morning only to learn that his house is about to be razed to make… Continue

Injury Progress Update:
I started PT last week and it's going well. Got permission to start driving the car (it's a stick) and toss the walking cast his week.
I've been putting every day ... and amazingly enough, feels like I never stopped. Yesterday I hit 6/6 from 30 feet several times and was probably hitting about 80% from that distance. I think that might be a little better than I was putting before I got hurt (except I can't jump put yet, and my jump putting was HOT… Continue

I need one more tourney to qualify for the finals which i will get at whistlers. I have to admit i have suprised myself quite a bit with the success ive been able to have this… Continue

Well everyone has their go to discs in their bags, and I am no exception to this at all. Throughout the last 10 years or so, there are many discs that have come and gone, and a few that have kept themselves in there for the long haul. Basically, just the 2 discs you need to play the game a ROC and an AVIAR.
Being a lefty, one must choose discs a little differently for thier bag due to course construction being mainly RHBH friendly. A few more understable discs than the average bag. While… Continue

1 star beast
1 star valk
1 star sindwinder
1 star cro
1 pro rhyno
Used to have a destroyer but left her in the fairway in fredricksburg, va. Other then that i try not to carry to many discs, i see people carrying 20 discs and they throw 5 during the round, its kinda just extra weight.

I went ahead and opened up a store to make T-Shirts available for this event. These shirts will probably not
be available at the tournament! I see very little of the money that comes in from the sale, but I'm going to take $1 from each item sold and create a "T-Shirt CTP" at the event. Whoever wins the CTP wins the cash. The only people that qualify for the T-Shirt CTP are those who bought a shirt. You can prove it by either wearing it or show me a receipt of a shirt purchase that has… Continue

Not to say that unemployment is not good for one's golf game, but I have to admit to feeling a bit damaged after being laid off by my company, Yahoo! earlier this week.
That being said, I feel justified in whining a little bit about some things I would not normally verbalize.
Got my Ace Club package in the mail today and while I'm pleased with the disc and the shirt, they also included a bumper sticker that reads: "Disc Golf It's in the Air!" Dude, that is one of the… Continue
