search for the perfect putter

after a years of searching Ive finally arrived at the perfect putter. drum roll please..... kc pro aviar. I recently picked up 11 and 12 time models. Ive tried wizards, challengers, magnets, flx challengers, classic aviars and many more.

Introduce a friend to Disc Golf!

A friend from the U.K. (I met him on a ship in Antarctica!) gave me a shout that he was coming to Seattle for a conference this week and wanted to give disc golf a try. I picked him up at his downtown hotel and in 15 minutes we were at Lakewood on the first tee. More speed golf.

Played two rounds after school today at Expo Park, Aurora, Colorado. Much snowmelt so my feet got all wet, the discs were muddy but I had fun anway. I love how there is more daylight these days in the evenings! Started at 5:00 and it was still easy to see for 25 mintes after I finished up at 5:45. There was some wind and that kept flipping the X-Buzz I'm auditioning which is frustrating on easy birdie holes. I didn't putt particularly well either but I did run decently fast.

Timmons Park

Bill, Steve, and I played 18 holes then Bill and I played the front 9 a second time. I was cruising along the fist time around at -2 after 6 holes when the bottom fell out. 7, 8 , and 9 are all birdie holes and I bogeyed them all. Then I took a double bogey on 11 and 12 while I didn't birdie 13. I bogeyed 14 then settled down for the rest of the round. I birdied 15, missed very makable birdie putts on 16 and 17 then parred 18. Worst Round in Over a Year...

This past Saturday Feb. 9th I played the worst round of golf since moving to Texas last March. I don't consider a couple of my rounds at TX States cause of the awful conditions last year. Saturday at Jack Brooks Park everything was in place for a great round of disc golf, the weather was in the mid 70's, little to no wind, I knew the course moderately well, and I had some really nice guys on my card. Wintertime Open

After tying for 8th in my first tournament as an Intermediate, I felt good. Not because I played well but because I had fun. And in the end that is what disc golf is all about. If you are getting angry over little things, your priorities might not be in order. I missed four putts inside 20 feet during the last round. Oh well. Snap or Hit

This is something I posted on a forum called, "The snap or hit and how to get it." FYI

The most important thing to focus on, when you are trying to get a snap/hit, is the disc. Not your wrist. The stop of the wrist helps the disc rip off your fingers. Pulling through that action is the other part. What you're trying to accomplish is a heavy rip off your fingers. If the disc slips out it's not good. You need a good grip with good traction. after 2 hole today I was +3 after taking a bush whacking 6 ......... someway to defend a bagtag ..... got lucky though ending staving off the loss and finishing at -2 ...... why we do things like that to ourselves I do not know ....but i guess it's only a game ...... and the best thing is getting our there and chucking

Wind Game

I think I'm starting to cement a reputation locally. Everybody around here has some sort of reputation, at least at the Advanced-on-up level, for being good at some particular part of the game. Maybe it's like that in other areas as well. Around here Dave O'Shea has the reputation for having the best forehand. Chris Hoyle is the best player, period. Terrace Creek

I started feeling a bit cagey this afternoon and decided to head up to Terrace Creek to play 18. It was real windy today with temps in the upper 40s. I played solo until I got to the ninth hole where I caught up with Jub Jub and Jim O'Connor so I joined them for the second half of the round. Beer Brewing & Wine!

I was at my LHBS today and got some useful tips that should make my life less stressful (I know brewing should not be stressful). Anyway....I have a Saison getting ready for the secondary (should be sometime this week), and I have just brewed the "Hopslap" (or Hopslam light if you will). This should slap anyone upside the head with hops , but yet allow you to have more than 2. I'm shooting for 4.5% ABV vs. Hopslams 10%.

Waiting for the SUN!!

The Doors (ya I'm OLD), had a great song called waiting for the SUN, but I've notice that it applies to "non-league/club" disc golf'ers too. Today, while running our club's Sunday FUN League, I noticed a LOT of "independent" DG'ers. out of the course for the first time, yep we hit around 50 today but there were a lot of high clouds, that kept out the sun till the back 9.
