Just got finished playing an Easter Bag Tag Challenge @ Emerald Isle. It was great turnout, a new tradition I think. I can't believe it, but I threw a 47. Just about the best I have ever throw there. Won the number 1 EI tag and the number 9 ACES tag. Not sure how long I'll keep it, but what a day! Can't wait until the next one!

Didn't find the Easter Bunny this weekend, but did damage a few trees. What gives with the No 8 at Redstone. Had heart palpitations just walking it. Played Redstone with son Jon and 5 year old grandson Preston. With a little work he will be slinging them with the best. Already has great form and fair distance when they go straight. (humm ! same problem I got. Make them go straight.) If that wasn't enough, met other son Geoff and wife Caren at Mastin Lake. Actually had best round I have had. Cut… Continue

Ok. So I have a biased judging station, however.....
I have a '3 hearted ale' on tap right now, that while "malty", still tastes pretty good. I know Ellis won't like it, but whatever.
However....I *do* have a 'hop slap' beer that I brewed from my own recipe that got the 'double thumbs up' as 'my new favorite beer' (these are actual quotes from people, I'm not making them up). The 'hop slap' is "continually hopped from 60 minutes, 20 min, 5 min, 2 min, 0 min of… Continue

Well I took part in my first official tournament last Sunday at Milo, in Estacada, OR. It is normally a 27 hole course, but for tournaments they make it into a 36 hole course. My first round was 85 on the west side of the course, and 82 on the east side. Both the east and the west courses were a par 60.
I started out trying to hard, I was not driving very accurately, and my putting was not bad with in 15 feet of the basket. I'm not saying that I drive very accurate to start with, but… Continue

Saturday morning's drive to Lansing was a tricky one. The farther south I went, the more snow there was and the icier the roads became. I stopped by Keith's place to give him a ride to the tourney. It's always a pleasure to get some historical perspective (yeah, I'm older than him but he's golfed competitively much longer) on this sport and the local leagues. By the time we got to Lansing, there was 4" of the white stuff on the ground. March Mush had become "Spring Snow… Continue

Today is the day! It looks as though we have a large group forming and the North County guys are ready to hand the South County guys to the wolves. I will post an update and results later tonight after the slicing and dicing is finished!

I went down on Friday to Huntsville, AL to locate and play a round or two at the Brahan Spring course getting ready for the Rocket City Amateur Open (3rd place in Novice! Yay me!). I found it eventually and started playing the course, which I love by the way! I caught up with a trio on #9, they had just thrown and asked if I wanted to play though or play with. I told them I didn't want to embarrass myself and to go ahead. They said in essence "Come on, how bad can you be?" so I joined them. I… Continue

A true leader molds their followers into a community.
I just recently wrote the sentence above and placed it as a quote in my signature on an email. To me it has so many meanings and at the same time is so simple. What is funny is I placed it onto an email that was sent to a group of leaders. I wonder if they will read it and actually think of what it means. Or will they blow it off and think it is just another stupid quote. When you read the above sentence, what does it mean… Continue

So I got up this morning, looked outside, and the world was pleasant. The ground appeared to be drying and things looked pretty calm out. That was solid. We went out to Carter Park in Bowling Green, Ohio. Myself, Justin Smith, and Justin Gill. Met Pat Burke out there. Basically it was all to get a practice round in for the Falcon Thaw tomorrow morning. When we teed off there was a very light breeze and the ground appeared to be drying.
By the time we hit hole… Continue

The challenge is set and the players are assemblied. Apparently I am gonna get sliced and diced by the locals. Emerald Isle has always been a challenge for me as a lot of the holes are just out of my range. To make it even more challenging it seems all the greens and bunkers, which are OB, are right in my range. This combination means I must play the course as smart as possible and avoid stupid mistakes. One thing I know is that Emerald Isle is always fun and always a challenge. This will be a… Continue

Every participant of a social networking site is supposed to write blog entries. So they say. Well, this is my first one. Having read blogs for a couple of years I always wondered what they could be good for. So I thought maybe the best idea to find it out is to write a blog entry and wait what happens. ;)
Of course this should be a disc golf related blog. So let's talk disc golf. The season is about to start in this cold country of ours, and I'm really looking forward to playing the… Continue

We will also be featuring a CTP which you can buy into for $1 and all proceeds will go to the SVO. I am not sure what the prizes will be, but I will come up with something.
