I guess I will just go play some disc golf at Earlweezy now instead since I just got off work and after the drive I can still get two rounds in easy like sunday morning.

Having no permanent course on the island gives us the advantage of experimenting with new course designs. At Sand Island Beach Park, we can get a permit to set up a temporary course and run monthly tournaments in a small area of the park. On Wednesdays, some of us use the park casually and sometimes experiment with redesigning the tournament course.
Yesterday we tried a new course design to make a par 69 “Gold Course”. Five of us showed up and played this monster that had 8 par 3s, 5… Continue

I hadn't played in over 3 weeks. That's a long time not to play even for me. My friend Bill called on Monday wanting to know where I've been, but something has come up every Tuesday and Thursday when we normally play. I have busy, sick, and it has rained every time that we would get together. I went out tonight but Bill wasn't there. I played 9 holes and was -1. I had birdie looks on #1, #2, #3, and #4, but I couldn't sink a putt. Then on #5 I left myself about 30 feet short on my approach and… Continue

It's been a bit since I've added to my blog, well been doing lot's of throw'in, mostly at Widefield Community Park DG Course, LOL, the score never seems to improve much, a stroke or two. Picked up a couple more Birdies but the elusive ACE doesn't seem to be in my bag! ;)
Been doing a monthly Clean Up of the DG area of the park, it's amazing how lazy players can be, sometimes there's a trash can right on the tee but they still leave their trash all over, grrrrrrrrrr! :( It's sure nice… Continue

I've been too busy to post.
I've dyed up a lot of discs for IOS #1, this weekend in Kenosha. I'll put up pics maybe Monday if we have time to take pics. I need to rinse and peel a lot of discs tonight.
I did some of my style of tie dye. I use a wheel to make cirles but I don't spin the dye. I use various styli [styluses?] to manipulate the dye. You'll see. They sell well. They make for good eye candy too. When I had some of my dyed stuff in a chain of stores in Chicago, my… Continue

Okay finally a real use for this blog that relates to this site and the love of my life(DISC GOLF, streaking is just a hobby).
So today I went to the IDGC to play some golf and grab a couple DVD's(we dont all have pros at our disposal). I walked into the PDGA meeting, oops. So I smiled and asked if I could go in the proshop and they said go ahead. I walked in, picked out the 05, and 06 worlds. I also grabbed a metal mini. I started looking at discs not to interupt the meeting I… Continue

So the Big D in the Desert distance event was more then expected. Val and I arrived early into Primm, Nevada on Thursday afternoon along with Cary Trotter and Andrew Rich, whom drove 19 hours the day before just to make it down to the event. We drove out to the dry lake flats to get in some early throws and practice our distance technique. We were soon… Continue

On the same day I played Cliff Stephens DGC, I followed up with a run through NE Coachman, which is less than a mile away and accessible by walking from Cliff Stephens, if you're of a mind to walk the ways it takes. I drove, but then I am usually on some sort of time budget when I get to go out of town, so...
There were a fair number of people at Coachman that day, compared to the one guy I met at C.S., but it was later in the day. Most of the course runs under the… Continue

I've done it.
And a lot of you out there probably have, too.
Done what, you ask?
Looking for The Magic Disc
Although most disc golfers are probably aware that it isn't the tool - it's the user - some of us are tempted by the local merchants and online repositories to look for that Magic Disc
, that next big break for our game.
But is there any such thing?
I've heard from one or two retailers about the flow of people through… Continue

Alike for those who for To-day prepare,
And those that after some To-morrow stare,
A Muezzin from the Tower of Darkness cries
"Fools! Your Reward is neither Here nor There!"
Why, all the Saints and Sages who discuss'd
Of the Two Worlds so learnedly, are thrust
Like foolish Prophets forth; their Works to Scorn
Are scatter'd, and their Mouths are stopt with Dust.
Oh, come with old Khayyam, and leave the Wise
To talk;… Continue

the lady and I made my way to the coast of NC this weekend to reunite with some of my best friends. we all split ways and rarely are able to get together at the same time. we drank heavily, fished, saw some family, went to a titty bar at 2pm and had our pictures taken in the parkinglot, ...and got it in at what seems to be the only course in damn near 50 miles. its a beautiful course with some interesting layout and some challenging holes. cant wait to get back down there.

So I don't want everyone to get the idea that I have always been a disc golf angel or that I am one now. In the early days of tournament play in FL I definitely let my temper get the best of me on several occasions. I even took my aggression out on other players(again James, I'm sorry) and fortunately didn't lose any friends in the process. However my actions as an immature teenager has allowed me to take a step back and see how it impacts my play and the others around me. Competition can have… Continue

This to me is one of the most important "rules of etiquette" in disc golf, that is often ignored or loosely followed.
When I play a tournament round of dgolf everything changes including my putts, unfortunately. From the amount of jocularity to level of your voice and even the way you walk
, everything changes, or at least it should. Tournament golf is serious whether you like or not. That doesn't mean that it is not fun, it just means that there are times to talk and there are… Continue
