As most of you have guessed, Terry forgot the warm for the warm up tour. Short of that, I personally had a great time. I was fortunate enough to have my husband step aside from his spot to play the tournament and allow me to play, which completed a card of 5 interm. women! That's the most women I have ever played with, and the only time I've played with women in my own division. We were all pretty evenly matched, so it felt good to compare to them stroke for stroke. (Unlike shooting with my… Continue

I decided to break down and spill my guts about how I feel and what I think about Disc Golf and any other random topics I choose to "blog" about. In doing so, I hope to give a colorful perspective with a hint of sincerity and hopefully avoiding hypocrisies. So here it goes...
..>>Spirit of the Game..>>
"Unlike many sports, golf is played, for the most part, without the supervision of a referee or umpire. The game… Continue

I figured that the only way to better myself is to get my butt up do some weight training. I know that my biggest weakness is the exact area where most of the energy used, and thats my core. Core training is the worst when getting back into any training program, but i am hoping it will get better as i go along! I started off today by doing some planks, side bridge, and doing some crunches on my total gym. I also worked on my back, lats and shoulders. I know that I am going to be sore tomorrow,… Continue

First thing. That was the absolute PIMPEST tourney I have ever been to and I will never miss it as long as I am playing competitive golf. Unfortunately this years tournament was marred by the tragedy of losing one of our brothers. Drew Eberhard who was Rand Eberhard's brother( The TD for the ATL open) was tragically killed on Saturday night on his way home from the players party. Stuff like that helps you appreciate what you do have because too many of us whine about what we don't have and what… Continue

This Tourney was more. Wouldn't it be kinda Crazy to make it 6 in six weeks. Well lets do it. Plus the Solstice guys rock as well as the Fact there are so many people that we love in Huntsville Why not. There was nothing too special about the day to write about other than plenty of Lessons Learned. Mainly the fact COMMIT. If I have a putt into a headwind that I really don't think I'm gonna make . Don't' ride the line between a half ass lay up and giving it a chance. If I realt am playing a safe… Continue

The Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA) is the governing body of the sport. It sets the rules and the technical standards. It runs an international and a national tour. It promotes disc golf in many ways. It is so
many different things that it has a very difficult governance task. It needs you!
I served for more than 5 years on its board of directors. The task was occasionally burdensome. It… Continue

Last night some of my friends and I were out late at a local course. Just a friendly game of glow golf. It started off as doubles for the first round. ended up singles on the second round and that is when the fun really started.
Picture this. You haven't played with your golf buddies in a while. So we all met for a glow round. Great fun. That was right up until I broke the rules. When we go out with my 3 and 5 year old nephews we have two rules #1 stay behind #2 is find a pole on tee… Continue

I'm growing to love the DG community out here in the cities. I've only played to league days/nights with the MFA (Minnesota Frisbee Association) gang, but I've been shown a great time. For those not familiar with MFA league nights, two of the biggest are the ChillyDog Winter League and Sundog Tournament Series. They are singles leagues, where you play in divisions. You earn points every time you play, and the money that gets paid to enter by those in your division stays in your division for… Continue

» "Why can't we get all the people together in the world that we really like and then just stay together? I guess that wouldn't work. Someone would leave - someone always leaves. Then we would have to say goodbye. I hate goodbyes. I know what I need... I need more hellos." -Snoopy of "Peanuts" written by Charles Schultz (taken from EscapePod episode 151).
» "Work" is a four-letter word. Luckily, "play", "disc", and "golf" are too!

Yesterday we took the first steps to move the 2008 SVO forward. We sent in the sanctioning agreeement and paid for the different fees. Now comes the fun part of gathering sponsors and getting everything prepared. Currently we have 5 teesign sponsors, so if you want to sponsor a sign let me know ASAP. I suspect the teesigns will go fast this year. We will also have a 2008 SVO Fundraiser Disc which we will be selling before the event. Watch for the Entry Form and the 2008 Website coming… Continue

I have not been playing any kind of golf, either ball or disc for several weeks now. I was feeling really good about both when I screwed up my back and shoulders, resulting in major gridlock to my upper body. A trip to the urgent care left me with two cortisone shots in either shoulder and an allergic reaction to the betadyne . I am not sure which made me feel worse, the steroids running amok in my bloodstream, or the allergic reaction. Either way, it took me out of contention for the ball golf… Continue

I still like to look at the PDGA message board to find discussions on disc golf issues - I think the organization of the threads and posts is a little easier for me to follow than on this site. But sometimes I come across the silliest, most absurd discussions on that MB, and I truly wonder about the sanity of those who participate.
Today's case in point: Relief from a… Continue

Well, one of the ladies that I played with at O'Hauser showed up at the Fondy tournament. It was very nice to shoot with her again. She had a lot of pointers for shooting into the wind. She really made the game fun. It was also nice that she stepped up and helped guide us through the PDGA rules about OB and water and such. I don't know what we've have done without her.
In our first round, we had a younger boy on the card, and I must say, I was very impressed by how handled himself.… Continue

I guess its been my friend and mistress for awhile now.
first discovered it when the local park we used to go to after school to get high and find dead bodies ( true story ,eeww) had a course put in and my friends started playing and low and behold.. here was something I was better than others at.
what at first was a source of pride turned into something I loved because it got me out into the outdoors and active, which I needed in my late teens/early 20's.
