I have always had high expectations for my golf. These expectations have brought me quickly into the ranks of the advanced women, but at times, they've also managed to steal my entire focus away from having fun.
I am not a very good goal-setter. Thanks to the PDGA, however, it's easy for me examine my scores, track and graph them and my round ratings, and generally use it as another tool to assess my progress. Disc golf has helped me to rediscover the joy of achieving personal… Continue

I'm still juice fasting most of the time. I'm still losing weight. I'm not sure anymore where I started or how long I've been doing this. It has become the horse with no name. I took a break for Bowling Green.
No, March 17 was day 22. So March 31 was day 36. Today is day 40?
I weighed in at 220 this morning at home, and 221 and 222. The home scale likes to give lots of answers. I think I'd be 230 at the doctor's office. I'm down 27 pounds from my heaviest. I'm down ten… Continue

Due to a sedentary lifestyle, let's say it has been a while since I have considered myself "in shape". I know, round is a shape and that is the shape I am in! Recently, I have decided to get into better physical shape and here is my reason. I'm 40 years old and I just started my family. My daughter turned 1 in January and I turn 41 in June and I know if I don't do something, the likelyhood of seeing my daughter growup is pretty small. I'm 40 pounds over weight and a cholesteral level just short… Continue

So, I was kind of hesitant to post on this because you hear a lot about "message board distance" or what people say online that they can throw, which is usually a total exaggeration. I know that there was a time when I was doing that, when I thought I could throw over 400 feet but I probably was only getting 375 with regularity. Well last year I was finally getting myself up to 420+ on the occasional pop. It wasn't consistent but if I threw it up there *just right* I could get… Continue

I had a drawing gig at a Mardi Gras party for a yacht rendezvous out on Useppa Island off the coast of Ft. Myers, and I left early so that I could stop and try a few holes at the disc golf course in the N. Ft. Myers Community Park. After having a bit of a hard time finding the place (although it turns out to be real easy to get there, once you know where it is), I was able to make a mad dash through as much of the course as I could before I had to get to my gig down the road.

Well I am now officially in business for myself all legal and legit for selling Innova Disc Golf equipment. I have a transient vendor's license for Ohio which means I can sell anywhere I have permission to. I would love to be able to build up enough business to have a permanent store location other than my house. I would still be out at the courses I can get to and have someone else sitting at the store. I am currently trying to get other DG suppliers so I can offer a wide variety of items. I… Continue

4/5/08 MHDGC Spring Fling held at Johnny Robert's Memorial disc golf course in Arvada, CO.
This was my first tournament since CO States in October 2007. It is also my first tourney since breaking my leg in December '07.
I played Pro Grandmasters division. This was my first tournament as a Grandmaster, and my first tournament playing pro. There were 5 players in our group, Peter Shive, Michael Hendler, Larry McCourt, and Gary Kloberdanz. Gary was playing up from ADV Grandmasters,… Continue

[Read the Chocolate Bunny Game to understand this post entirely.]
On Thursday it rained several inches in Byron. The course was flooded. On Friday the owner and groundskeepers decided that carts could not go on the course. I did not find out until Friday night when I was setting up. I did what I could do. I told every player before they signed up that the course was too soggy for carts. Fortunately I had the lake on hole 1 as a convenient prop to make my point. Normally there's no… Continue

Well tomorrow is the Sun Valley Monthly and the SDA Club meeting. Strangly I am looking forward to both. I want to thank everyone who has stepped up to help out, it is very much appreciated and helps make my job running the monthly even easier! I am looking forward to watching the SVO layout take its toll on the players. With some of the modifications we have made to the layout, it will probably play a little harder in some spots and a little easier in others. With the tall grass perfect drives… Continue

With the warmer weather, the Ashford Pines is just about playable. There are still some pretty large snowfields on the top of the hill, but otherwise you can start to pick your way around some of the more open (sunny) holes. I'm looking very forward to being able to get out and walk around with a couple of discs, picking throws here or there as I see fit. Soon some cement basket sleeve work starts as well as trimming and clearing. Probably start doing bonfires next weekend. It's going to be… Continue

These are the rules for the chocolate bunny game at the tournament tomorrow:
The Chocolate Bunny Game
There are chocolate bunnies on the course for a side game. During the tournament rounds, if your disc land in the hoop or touching the hoop, you win the chocolate bunny in the hoop. He’s yours. Take the bunny and leave the hoop. Once the hole is completed, it is too late to try to win the bunny. Unless you get lucky on a drive or approach shot, you pretty much have to… Continue
