Hit and Miss

The only way I can explain the last 2 weeks of disc golf is hit or miss. Some days I go out and throw 400', some days I struggle to hit 330. I believe this is mostly timing issues regarding my hips. It seems if the do not clear at the right time the disc slips out of my hand early and shoots off to the right(LHBH) @ about 65% of my normal distance. Going to head out play a round after work today. Maybe I will drop back on by and let ya'll now how it went.

Help!!!!!! Backhand.

So I have a great snap and tons of power, but im maxing around 400'. The 400' isn't consistent and I have watched countless videos and tips that have helped, but not as much as I would like. I would love to get some insite from those who throw 400' plus on a consistent bases.

More Field Practice

I threw two sessions this past weekend totalling probably 3.5 hours. The distances I threw tell me a bit about what's wrong, but not so much WHY it's wrong.

Top 3 Long throws (airshot)

1 - 363' SL

2 - 362' TL

3 - 360' TL

Furman - Round Two

The Paladins are in a weekend series with the College of Charleston Cougars so I headed over early to socialize with the tailgating crowd and try the nine holes at Furman once more. I was +8 for a 35. I made a few good throws but i sure wore out some trees along the way. I caught a passed a pair of duffers then joined them for the final 4 holes. The Innova Star XCaliber

Instead of waiting for a disc to break in, do you ever just taco it over and over?

What do you think of a broken in XCaliber for long straight distances as compared with the other high-speed 10 - 13's???

A local pro once commented to me that a broken in XCal is basically a Destroyer - I wondered if there were still slight differences (once broken in).

First Tournament

I'm getting ready for my first tournament on April 24th. I have been playing the two courses at least four times a week and I am getting a good feel of the layout. If anyone has any tournament preparation advice or tournament day advice feel free to share. Thanks guys!

Field practice

I'm not entirely sure what's happened over the last 6 months but I've lost about 40' of distance off my throws. In October, I was throwing everything between 350 and 380 and exactly where I wanted it. Today's session, I was 300-350 with one shot getting to 380 in a headwind. I had no aim whatsoever, I had probably a half a dozen total worm burners that didn't make 200'. I know I was torqueing some of the shots I was throwing and that was quite frustrating. Brand New 175g Star Eagle-X (Baby blue color)

I just bought this - it's flight is great. It is the 'X' version. On the back is SEX (star eagle-X)

It is also slippery on top, I think. I would love to trade this for a Champion Eagle (173, 174, 175 grams).

Does anyone have a good quality Champion Eagle that they would trade?

Practice this week

Practice this week has been decent. I threw some great rounds this week and I am pretty happy with my results with an exception of putting. I have been throwing slightly nose down and have been shorting a lot of 20ft this week.

Start next week, instead of playing 5 days a week I may cut it back to 3 and spend the other 2 days at the soccor field and with my practice basket until my completion percentage increases on 30-40ft putts.
