What a weekend of disc.
I left the house around 1pm on Friday and headed south on I-5 at light speed to the Shootout at Hyzer Pines located in beautiful Sisters Oregon. The XM radio was playing great tunes and lightened my mood under gloomy skies. Upon exiting the highway in Salem I left a homeless man with a few pieces of string cheese the best I could do at the moment. Upon entering Highway 20 the holiday weekend shone upon in the color of RVs,… Continue

So I was in second place in advanced at crooked creek heading into the last round. I shot decent rounds of 54,53,52 in that order leading up to round 4. Then the blow up of a lifetime occured. I made the mistake of worrying about the people behind me and not just playing. I caught a few really bad breaks but that doesnt excuse the fact that I had the wrong frame of mind. I always know to play the course until the very end, play my game and it will all fall into place but I didnt and ended up… Continue

This is an opportunity to openly talk about my blogs. Say whatever you want, it might get deleted later but not til it's been well read. No swearing, or it's out as per rules of the site. I can take it. Like it or not, tell me. Agree or not, tell me. Don't hide behind a screen like the guy in chat on Memorial Day, that's too childish here is his chance to say who he is.
Understand they are my opinion, not facts, from one round at one time on the course. I have higher than normal standards… Continue

Just got back from the tournament late this afternoon.
The four courses were simply great. Des Moines should be proud of them. They test accuracy and distance pretty evenly. My type of courses. It was interesting talking to some local rec players about the courses. They said they didn't know what they had until they went to a different town and now appreciate their courses much more.
Meeting new people and old friends is still one of the fun things of disc… Continue

Just registered today, can't wait for this one. If you plan to go just remember rule #1 you didn't bring enough beer or ice.

Glad I filled up yesterday.
Got my first Tick that was successful today, got him right away hopefully no Lyme disease.
Princeton, MA- Goodnow:
This course is not so good, now. It looks like no one has seen it in 15 years, couldn't find many hole, even passed the entire first hole thinking it was just a 3' trail up to the course, but no it was a 3' wide fairway, overgrown and nasty and blind. Signage is colored wood posts, some without number. Mixed baskets, all rusting… Continue

The Dela Sunday morning doubles in Santa Cruz, California at Upper Delaveaga Park.
It is a $5.00 buy in and it goes something like this for those not in the know :
1) partners are Paired A players with B players
2) Best Shot(meaning you drive, then your partner drives and the best shot or most clear shot is the
shot you normally take)
3) You use a Marker disc to mark the spot of where the Disc Landed.
Okay now to get down to the round, Took way to laggin long… Continue

I stopped at Crooked Creek on m way home from Charleston. I knew that there was a tournament going on and I followed Bill around the last 7 holes of the morning round. I met Mike and Steve that he was playing against in the grand masters division. I also had a chance to talk with John and Christine Wright. I always like to stop and chat with them. Bill won the Grand Masters and had a good time playing with those guys.

It's been over 4 weeks now, hit over 90+ courses.
Today I played doubles at Buffumville with Jeff. We didn't win. Then played back 9 doubles for 0$ with a different Jeff, didn't win or lose, tie.
Charlton, MA- Buffumville Dam:
This is mostly a really nice course, with 27 holes, a distinctly separate back 9. Most sign posts still have #'s and lengths, but there's always vandals. The tees are short cement, with a crushed rock run up, they work well. It is about half in… Continue

I am trying to expand my disc golf experience this summer to get to some more courses throughout the state. I love experiencing a new course for the first time, the anticipation of seeing a new hole, developing a strategy, and maybe even meeting some new people. So here is my first entry for the summer. I will post a new entry whenever I get about 4-5 new courses in. Some I have golfed before, but I still want to give some thoughts on them. I am by no means a disc golf expert, I just like to… Continue

Couldn't get online for too long so I didn't get anything up here yesterday. I began with a round at Pleasant Hill Gold Dragon again, with Josh and Kyle, to show me the OB's, it was extremely windy and we all shot in the 60's.
Yesterday I met Dan O at Amesbury Pines park in Amesbury, MA. He was passing by heading home (1,000ft away) and he saw my car and had to stop and talk to me. I joined him and his friends for a round 15 minutes later. He let me camp out in his yard and hooked it up… Continue

Kelsey spotted and I played the Toboggan today. I shot a 68. There just aren't any easy holes out there. It was a lot easier to shoot a 68 being 30 pounds lighter!

Furman was knocked out of the SoCon Tournament today and I have a room through tomorrow morning. That left me just enough time to play the 9 holes at Park Circle this afternoon. It is an interesting little course played around the outside of a traffic circle. The terrain is very flat (as is most of Charleston) but it plays through and around a lot of trees and vegetation. But I found it to be at least as interesting as Gower Park and Holmes Park in Greenville.
If I lived in or around… Continue

Over the last two weeks I have lost 4 discs, 3 of wich were some of my favorite discs (2 Archangels and a champ valkyrie). I lost 3 of them out in the Redwood Curtain and one out in Willow Creek. I still have not heard anything about the 3 in the curtain, but the one in Willow Creek was found by a local player up there. He found it while looking for his disc in some thick brush, but it wasn't the hole I lost it on, so someone out there was playing with my disc and lost it again (karma you could… Continue

Our household got a Wii last Christmas, and we've been playing it off and on since then. Super Mario Galaxy, The Simpsons and Guitar Hero are great, but we seem to play Wii Sports the most, particularly the golf game. Rizbee Jr. just set a milestone last night - he aced hole #2 while playing in Expert mode.
One of the cool things about the Wii is that you can create your own character, or Mii. We've created Mii's that (sort of) look like each… Continue

What a course. I wish I had more time to play that park ahead of COTO this year. One round of doubles before wasn't enough time to really grasp some of the shots and lines I was going to have to find throughout the weekend. What a fun tourney though. Very challenging, and I staged a late comeback to play myself back into the cash. I will definitely try to play that one next year. This weekend is the next birdshot tourney at Conroe and I hope to get a little closer to the even mark this time. My… Continue

Thanks for the sweet discs. Maybe I can get all the way to the 19th hole with the CFR Destroyer.
I thought I tied Kyle for the day but now I think I had his score wrong in my head from round #1, possibly beat him by 3 for the day, so he should come to Pleasant to get those strokes back..
Played with Bob, Kyle, Beatz (Beauty only), and Vic?
Brunswick, ME-Enman Field Beauty:
This course is easier score wise and skill level wise than the Beast, as you might expect. Lots… Continue

Hello everybody. My name is Keivn
I don't know if anyone will even see this, but I thought it would be worth a shot. I am leaving America on the tenth of June to travel Europe and play some new courses. I am hoping that someone from Europe is on this site and sees this post, because I will be needing places to stay and people to help me find courses. Please message me if you have a place for me to crash for a while or just the night. I appreciate it. Thanks a lot.
