I threw my first ACE today at #16 on Albert Oakland's bottom course here in Columbia, MO!! I used a 174g Champion Monster, threw a thumber, and it bounced up and straight in. I've been wanting that one bad and I threw an identical shot that missed a foot left just yesterday, so it feels that much better. The best part was that twelve people witnessed it!! After so many close calls, I must say it feels good to finally join the Ace Club!

Saturday May 30.
I played the Tobbogan yesterday. The first time in about three years. It was a good time, I didn't finish as good as I would have liked to. I think I was about 20-30 over I can't remember exactly. I won't be getting into am nationals any time soon.
To sum up my game I spent more time in the bushes then on the fairway, so I'd say my score wasn't that bad. I didn't lose no discs which is a bonus. I did find 1 on hole 9 while I was looking for mine in the… Continue

and three days sober now. I see things a bit clearer now. same old crap, different story.
I checked in to CPC millwood in Arlington but quickly went thru what Ive been thru before in the 8+ times Ive been in rehab/hospitals.
I realized that I am the only person that can keep myself sober. no god or group can do that but me.
I can play the same game Ive played before or tread a new path. but a familiar one.
I was sober for almost three years recently and went thru depression… Continue

Whitehall DGC is in the process of adding 9 more holes, or was until a brush fire got out of control and burned about 10 acres. Fortunately the original 18 holes are fine, but I'm sure this sets back plans for the additional holes.

Monday; Just went out to the local course by myself, wore the Ipod and played a nice relaxed casual two rounds. Listened to some Stevie Ray, Tom Petty and AC/DC and shot a one under and an even. Sometimes it's nice to just play at your own speed, didn't have to wait on anyone either round which was nice too.
Tuesday; Met Rody and Kyle and drove over to try and make the mini at Crowley. I knew we were running a little late so I called everyone I could think of to no avail. We got… Continue

I'm one of those golfers whose big head gets in the way of my game sometimes. I'm 40-50 foot out, thinking "I've got this putt." Within the last couple of years, I've learned that maybe that's not the best way; although, I'm a superb putter, taught by some of the best in the midwest. I like to impress the boys with my mad puttin skillz.
About 3 years ago, I went to play one of my favorite tournys in Herrington, KS. Until this point, I was the best girl golfer around these parts,… Continue

Its hard to say. Do we take our non-disc golfing friends out for a leisurely (yet frustrating) loop or do we try to contact better players for which we are simply acquaintances? On one hand, you have to be loyal to your closest peeps. An example: One day, at Creve Coeur park in St. Louis I decided to take 4-5 of my closest non-disc golfing friends to the extremely long (about 10,000 feet), yet very flat, park that sits adjacent to one of the largest lakes in the area. Needless to say, on this… Continue

Well I played in my first Mini Tourney today @ Veterans!!!! I won my divison (intermediate)...even though I was the only one playing but still... the point is I actually played!!!! Usually I just walk around with Casey and watch him and Randy play but today they forced me to play. I ended up with a 68.. eh I will try to do better next time! I had some bad holes but I almost got a birdie from a long shot on hole 12... it was sooo nice... I screamed and jumped and got excited when I heard it hit… Continue

This past weekend I participated very well in the Beaver State Fling. Even though I didn't finish as strong as I would have liked to I am very pleased with myself and my performance. I shot a thousand rated round my forst round. In doin that I know that I have what it takes to be a competitive golfer. I am excited for the next time I can put my skills to the test and continue to play as well as I know I can. Thanks to all the people who told me good job and to the people I met over the weekend,… Continue

I played a quick nine after this afternoon's rain. It was even par with bogeys on 4 and 6 and birdies on 2 and 5. I was throwing okay and should have had a couple of strokes along the way. After the rain with course was very squishy. With rain coming nearly every day the mosquitoes are as big as B-52s. I need to get a can of skeeter repellent.

I don't know if this blog will be useful to anyone or not, but I need to get it off my chest. I have been carrying two high sixties original Star Destroyers in my bag for a long time. One is very worn and is used for long rollers side arm and backhand, and occasional high turnover shots. I still have that one and it's still going strong. What I no longer have, and haven't been able to replace satisfactory yet, is my 168g slow turning Star Destroyer. This was very useful for slow turning shots,… Continue

I'm no fan of labels. Never have been. Whether it be the newest intellectual or political movement (notice I separated the two), the latest pop-culture fad, a celebrity or musical act, or any other medium that opens itself up to branding by those willing to classify it, there's likely to be a few new labels associated. I, as I've recently come to discover, also have a label. I'm what some of you refer to as a "casual".
From what I understand (and that's admittedly very little), there… Continue
