New music video

Hey all - Check out the new music video featuring footage that will be in the movie. Set to some Mother Hips music. And if you haven't seen it, check out the earlier one set to some hip hop music by Ty Welch.

We are wrapping up filming with this weekend's Masters Cup and a couple interviews next week with the goal of having it ready for World's in August.

Thanks for all of your support!

new discs!

The other day I got my discs that I ordered off ebay. Innova Wold, Discraft Hawk and Discraft XL. The Wolf and I are still arguing a bit, but those two Discraft discs and I have really hit it off. The XL is such a great driver for me and once I learn to pull back a little on throwing, the Hawk is gonna be deadly.

In other odd news, the Cheetah that I found that looks like it's been through both WWI and WWII attached to the nose of a fighter plane has proven to be an awesome driver… Continue

Century Park

After a miserable day at work I went to Century in Greer. Bill and Carla's truck was there and I saw them off in the distance. Bill was just finishing a round with another player after he and Carla had been cleaning out the mess around #10.

I didn't play especially well, but I never do when I have been angry. And I was angry all day at work today. I ended up +7 and only threw one birdie. But it was good to unwind with Bill and Carla.

Back in K-zoo and just played my first tournament

Well, after a crazy year @ Michigan Tech, i'm now back in Kalamazoo and I have been disc golfing ALL DAY EVERY DAY! And finally, after about 3-4 years of playing and improving my game time after time, i played my first tournament at Begg Park in Battle Creek @ the Handlebar Open. I shot the hot round in the first round with a 71, putting me in the lead by 2 throws. In the second round, my competition brought the heat and took first in the end by 1 THROW! Even though I ended up taking second, I… Continue

No matter how many times I may play, it just is never enough.

I've been playing about a year now. I have come a long way since I started. I fore arm shot needs some polishing and my backhand stinks. Plus my putting is sporadic. However, playing yesterday, I landed a put and the basket fell down the pole...maybe that is a good sign.

Boo and Yay!

Boo: I threw a 75 at Johnson Street last night. I would have done a little bit better but that damn hole 18! 6 throws?! I just don't have the strength to drive it far enough to accomplish anything on that hole.

Yay: My putting has already improved, especially with my Archangel. Yeah, you read that right: Archangel. I throw it with the disc vertical to get me through tight trees and stuff and it's nothing but basket, baby! Who needs the chains when you've got the… Continue

They call me "The Snake"

Some of my friends came up with the name "snake eye" many years ago, obviously inspired by my putting style. Here's a short video my friend Michael produced recently. It features the Austro Hungaro tour event in Retz, Austria. The tournament location is a former stone pit, apparently the best place for snakes. Enjoy!

The original "snake eyes":

"Dustin Hoffman’s character Jack Crabb has a wandering life and eventually meets up with his long lost sister.… Continue

The Homegrown Hops Saga

Follow my pictorial account of growing my own hops for brewing beer. Harvest should be late August or early September. Probably not in time for the infamous '4 Keg Challenge', but who knows.

I have 4 plants, two each of Cascade and Centennial

Let me know what you think. I understand that you need a Facebook account, but you should have… Continue

Strike Team updates

Greetings fellow Golfers!

The Strike Team is excited to announce the addition of our newest member Bryce Hins. Bryce has been playing disc for a few years now and wil be representing the Team in the intermediate level of play. He is a south paw, which opens a lot of doors for us in regards to doubles tournaments and the like.

We are also currently considering adding another new team member, Nick Machart to our fold. Nick is a great AM player, and ANOTHER south paw, so the balance of… Continue

Homecomings, Bests, and a Final Thought...

On Sunday, May 3rd, I played Standing Rocks Park for the first time this year. This was also the first time I'd played this course in almost 4 years. I was what many might consider "riff-raff", as I was against the 'pay-to-play' policy that had been initiated there some time ago. After I had done a little maturing, I realized that the money paid to utilize this park was only going to enhance it. This was the first course I'd ever played, and even now, it remains my favorite. So, I caved and… Continue

Hammond Hill DGC

The new course in Hastings Michigan is a gem. I played the course yesterday with course designer Sam Sherwood from the longs. The course is still being worked on but is very playable. The course boasts two pin placements and two tee placements. I am not sure on the length, but the longs have some good holes. The course is well designed with a mixture of holes and length. There is one hole over 550' that plays to a pin on a hill with steep drop offs. The course is also a hike. I was beat after… Continue

Timmons - Front Nine

I went back to Timmons to try the front nine. I ended up at +4, which is a terrible score. But I wasted a lot of strokes on #8 with some indecisive putting. I also had a couple of odd things happen . I am still throwing longer but I was off just enough to cause a lot of trouble. +4 was a bad score even when I was struggling to throw at all. But I felt like the score was an aberration. I birdied #1 and #6, a circle 5 on #5, a 6 on #8, and a 4 on #9.

Aced hole #8 at Brahan Springs during the RCCG Tuesday night Pro/Am doubles round. I think this was the first time for me to hit an ace for an Ace Pot. WooHoo. On the next to last hole, my champion destroyer decided to jump up into the basket. There was much rejoicing.

Buddah Tree 09 / My 5th Ace

This weekend I went back out to Ammon Ranch for another weekend of great disc golf. The weather when I took off on Friday said showers for Saturday and early showers on Sunday. Unfortunatly for me it was a little wrong, showers turned into pouring rain all day Saturday with not even a hole off. We played 36 holes on Sat. one round forward and one reverse, I know this doesn't sound like alot of disc, but this is Ammon Ranch were talking about here. For anyone who hasn't ever had the chance to… Continue

Wish List

This is just a wish list I'm kinda creating as I go. If you are looking for something to get me for graduation, a disc makes an amazing gift. Worried someone else already got me the same disc? Not a problem! Disc golfers LOVE having more than one of the same disc. However, if you happened to get me the DVD or the subscription, you might want to let me know, that way I can take them off the list.

Innova Wolf

Innova Panther

Innova Valkyrie

Discraft… Continue

Ace #24 - Disc Karma

So I roll up to League a couple of minutes late (NOT my fault), the first time I have EVER been late, and I am informed that I am going to receive a one stroke penalty to my score.

This immediately pisses me off because a) I've never been late before, b) I've waited for other people countless times and never stroked them for being late, and mostly c) this is my home course where I have labored hours and hours for the benefit of the course, and run leagues and thrown tournaments, and now… Continue
