Tour & more update...

The tour is going great! I managed to qualify for the PDGA United States Amatuer Championships last weekend on the famed toboggan course in Milford, Michigans Kensignton Metropark. The course is absolutely amazing, incredibly well run event, with meals before & after your rounds, tee times, & tons of extra games & activities.

I by no means thought my game was ready for an event like this, I finished 80th of 101 players. Not great by any means but considering I was the 2nd… Continue

Holmes Park - Hyper-Extended Elbow

Steve called and we went to Holmes a little early to play today. I was throwing pretty well, but my putting was really sorry. We played 27 holes and I was -1, even, and +3. We ran into Ken and Lynn when finishing the second round. My far away vision must be getting worse, because I didn't recognize them until we were up the hill and much closer. On the third time around I hyper-extended my right elbow on the 2nd hole. Some guys left a disc in the top of one of the trees on Tuesday. Each time… Continue

The Grand Opening is over - The First Tournament is under our belt - Now Get To Pinconning and play the difficult fun and challenging initial nine holes at Blizzard Hills

Grand Opening Photo Op For Course Designer Terry Calhoun alongside Lorie Szyperski, the main force that found the land and raised enough money for 18 baskets
The first Pinconning Disc Golf Club tournamnet sponsored in part by INNOVA was a huge success. Mike Siuda had low score of the day with a 56 round after a morning round of 59. The two scores totaled a winning score for AM1. Yes, it is a tough course to score…

hit a ace tonight ,my first overhand ace my 6th total.
perfect shot hit dead on and dropped right in
the hole was bryan #8 222' feet which i have hit once before with a backhand gator shot
I threw a varlkyie thumber ,and with that ace i tied my all time best round of 5 under pretty good condering thr course is 9 holes with hole 3 a tight 450' hole that is a tough three and hole 6 and 7 being over 4oo' and hole nine at 400' so 5 under is pretty damn good

Holmes Park - Sore from GMS Practice

I went to Holmes Park tonight. Bill is in Florida taking a river canoe/camping trip with his grandson Logan this week. Steve said that he would come if he got his sleep in and Erica said that she'd be in Saluda. I got there and they had little kids' soccer tryouts going on the ballfield and the parking lot was parked clear full. I had to park along the street. I played a round by myself and Steve was playing #1 when I was teeing off on #9. I threw birdies on 2,5, and 6 but took a double bogey… Continue

56 on Toboggan

Today I shot a 56 on the Toboggan, first round on it since last year since I've been gone.

Played pretty well, actually had room for improvement a couple times but was thrilled with that. Didn't miss a short putt, hit several 40+'ers.

Scorecard: 3,4,4,3,2,3,4,2,3,3,2,4,3,3,3,3,4,3

Played with mom, cousin Andy (new to the game), Sean McFarland from the site, Nick Brown, and a guy from Toledo for a few holes. Never came close to getting a 5 or higher, like I usually… Continue

Amateur Nationals - 3rd Place

Before I start anything huge congratulations to everyone who cashed, huge thanks to everyone who came from out of state to check out this primo event, and more congratulations to those who beat me. Daemon Stahlin played some out of his mind awesome disc golf to win the Amateur National Championship, 53 is unbelievable. Mark Roberts was by far the most consistent out of the top three finishers and deserved his second place finish, f'sho.

A week or so ago I posted on my blog that my… Continue

National Champion & Shaving Strokes With the Z-Force

Thanks to all who have congratulations for me. I appreciate it. The last round 53 was without a doubt the best round of golf I have ever played on any course. I woke up on Sunday angry because I knew the very best I could do on the Toboggan was 55, and I knew that was not going to be good enough to catch up. I was very happy, even more surprised, to prove myself wrong.

I am also very glad that I decided to put my player pack Z-Force in the bag for my 2nd and 3rd rounds. This disc… Continue

Father's Day Fun- tobaggon style

Went to check out Am Nats at the famous tobaggon course at Kensington Metro Park with my two oldest kids, Ethan (almost 4) and Olivia (2). Got to spend a great day playing with my kids at the playground, throwing in the practice area with ethan, picking up some new plastic. the kids especially liked running down those massive hills. Got to cheer on some pals....great work Nik Beats, Pat Burke, and Trevor Thorp. Congrats go to Daemon for that super hot 53 to come outta nowhere to win......Great… Continue

I have made it home safely for the first break. Just walked my course with my parents and cousin and it's looking good. Dog is kind of lazy. Might be at the Toboggan tomorrow.

Alexandria, OH- Lobdell Reserve:The difference in length and difficulty from long to short tees is pretty dramatic here, some holes 300' longer from long tee. The shorts I played were pretty easy, I shot -10. About 6 holes have cement tees, the rest mud pits with up to 6" standing water, with wooden… Continue

It's ALL in the Head

I know I have a lot to learn in this sport. I have only been playing for just over a year. As I've said before, I am greatful for all those who have given me advice on the game whether it be one little tip or a lot of tips/ lessons. I in no way could list all the names of people both back in Toledo and out here in MN that have helped me to improve. This sport is truly a great sport, and especially as a woman. Since there aren't a ton of us females, all the guys WANT to see the few that are… Continue

Columbus OH- been awhile

I haven't played the Hoover Dam course since about 2004, and it is moving way down the list of favorite courses since I have played 400 since then.

*Already played in the past-Columbus, OH- Hoover/Hambrick:This course starts out in the wide open field with a few trees and along the edges of some woods for the front 9. Long-ish, not very technical, with some good hills and if you go off fairway it can be nasty. The back 9 is more wooded, sometimes overgrown with really tight… Continue

Best ever anywhere!!

I shot my best ever anywhere yesterday. It was the monthly tournament at O.T. Sloan in Sanford NC. My first round was a 56, only 2 over par. My prior best was a 59. To make it better, my second round was also a 56. I was a total of 4 over for the whole tournament, and my previous best for one round was 4 over. AWSOME. I got the #3 bag tag for the LDGA Bag Tag series. SWEET.

I have changed my attitude when playing recently and I think it makes a difference. I am now out there to have a good… Continue

Well i moved closer and started making putts i knew i could make which has done wonders with my confindene while putting… Continue

Sias backyard, heading into Columbus, Ohio

Lavalette, WV- Lucky and Crazy 8:One is brand new, not really finished but being worked in. Has some unique holes, like a basket in a tree, a shot across train tracks to a basket suspended from a tree. The other is not being worked on currently because of the new course, so it's pretty rough but not that bad except for a few holes. Only 1-2, and 18 have ivy, the rest is up in the woods on huge hills, with turtles and toads everywhere. Most holes are probably technically a par-3, but… Continue

Ryan Carroll's house for the night, KY

Today I met Ryan at Rotary park for a round with a guy named Bentley as well.

Huntingon, WV- Rotary:Fairly open hilly and grassy park, course winds around in mostly a loop. Some tight wooded holes, short and technical with punishing rough and rolls from baskets on hills. Two sets of nice tees and signs, can be long from long tee to long pin but from short to short it is duece or die, and we all died. Fun and easy to play.

Huntington, WV (Did not actually play due to… Continue
