5 weeks into leagues here in Indy, first 3 were to develope your handicap. I shot great 2 out of three of those weeks & not horrible the off week. With my handicap in order to cash I need to shoot like 4 down. Very possible since I average a couple above par at Washington Park and I usually leave a half dozen shots out on the course either missing 20 foot putts or nailing a tree early in a hole.
The first week I played intermediate & shot even beating the few guys in… Continue

I worked over 45 minutes tonight but got off so that I could meet Bill at Gower. But Bill was a no show. Coop said that he would come over if he could get his sleep in but he wasn't there either, so he must not have finished sleeping. But I used to work the graveyard shift and I know what a struggle that is.
I didn't play especially well, but I was +3 and +2. My tee shots and upshots were both a mess tonight and I was scuffling to save par many times. On the first go around I blew up… Continue

Minimal disc golf in this post. With Amateur Nationals coming up in less than two short weeks, just over a week really before the player's meeting/banquet on Thursday night, I figured I'd take a few days away from the game to recharge myself a little bit mentally. I did do some throwing yesterday just to keep myself from slipping too much and had a great throw on one of them. Stood at the back of one end zone with a 10mph tailwind and threw a disc out 46 yards past the back of the end zone on… Continue

Street, MD- Scarboro Hills:
Other than being extremely rough on the edges, and on some holes, it's a great course. Medium length, technical. Hilly , grassy and mostly in woods with some into and out of woods holes, and some pure woods. Has insane ivy, easy to lose a disc, some holes on the back 9 tight and blind with overgrowth. Well designed will be great when it gets some more work done. It has rubber tees, several are severely angled but most are nice. Has tee signs, with lengths and… Continue

Anyone else notice how extra fragrant the Russian olives are this spring? Maybe it is just because my allergies have been lighter and I can breathe through my nose. Anyone else having lighter spring allergies?
We had 107 and 110 players each day for IOS #2. My crazy idea for how to split the divisions, or Mike Krupicka's idea if I'm just stealing credit here, has turned out to be pure genius. Half-in is working good too, even if Mike and Jon have problems with the math. Ties make it… Continue

I woke up at nearly 8:00, was planning to tee-off at 7:00 so I did not get in 6 rounds, not to mention insane traffic (45 minutes wasted) due to a NASCAR event or whatever. I didn't know they did that up north.
Pennsville, NJ- Riverview:
A very nice recreational level 9 hole course along a lake, but never getting too close to risk losing a disc without a pretty bad shot. Grassy, open but with enough trees to craft shots on half the holes. Has some decent length, most holes well… Continue

I'd like to thank the reason I won advanced yesterday at the 11th Annual Ottawa Park Open. No, I'm not thanking my sponsor (although this now merits a completely unnecessary plug: http://www.poorboydiscs.com/ ha!) and I'm not thanking any of my discs (although the XCaliber was CLUTCH all day long)... I'd like to thank Chipotle.
In between rounds myself and a few friends went to Chipotle. Got myself a massively overloaded steak fajita burrito and ate about 75% of it on the way back to… Continue

So far so good... I guess I am rounding into form at the right time. I was kind of worried that Thrills at the Mills (1022/985) would be a one time thing, just hot for one tournament and thats it. But good play at the doubles event last weekend and now this weekend are real confidence builders. Today I managed to pull off the win at the 11th Annual Ottawa Park Open here in Toledo. In April at the Spring Hyzer I placed well there for the first time since my days in Intermediate (read: December… Continue

so day was the first day of Bryan Sunday doubles ,and my first time hosting something of the sort .
I was kind of nervous that not a lot of people would show up .I was expecting like two others to show up but all together seven people show up .
so we had a odd number but right away one guy was like I'll go solo which from what a read and think was right he's allowed to day that .
so we started off kind of ghetto picking random partners out of a walmart plastic sack ,and after… Continue

Did not get much done today as I did not leave NYC until around 11, and it took well over an hour to get to the first course.
Manalapan, NJ- Manalapan Recreation Center:
Very nice beginner course, has signs and is easy to play and is extremely short. 3 holes under 150ft! It circles around a soccer field on the fringe of the park in some nice trees. Most holes are very open, but gaurded pins creating 'tough' shots. Basket #7 was lying on the ground in ruins, behind a fence, why… Continue
