If a disc lands on top of the basket is it in?

I'm currently down to throwing 330-350 at best and with little accuracy. I'm not sure what's happening if it's a failure in technique or aging catching up with me (I'm 38). This past weekend was the first set of field sessions in ages where I didn't break 360'. I threw one 358 with my flippiest SL. It just kept drifting right and floating. Oh, I also gave myself a blood blister at my main rip point on my index finger. All my drivers are going about this distance unless I have a big form… Continue

I've only been playing disc golf for about 2 1/2 months. I've very fortunate to be in a location with a few great courses and a lot of great players who are always willing to help give advice and make playing a lot more enjoyable. Most of the courses when I'm from are short, technical courses. Most of the holes average between 200-325 feet and are in fairly wooded areas.
In the short time I've been playing I've become completely taken by the game. I have started clearing off a 20 acre patch… Continue

I have an original Pluto Platter with the package and American Trends sticker on the reverse side that my mother-in-law bought when she was 19 at a fair in California! I would like to get this in the hands of a true Frisbee collector. Got any suggestions? Pictures and more information available upon requests.

Field practice has been okay lately. Not great. Okay. I'm maxing out between 360 and 370 although my main field is unuseable due to reseeding and fertilizing. My aim is a bit less wonky than it's been over the last few months. I'm focusing more on a downfield target or line to hit so that's helped a bit. I'm still not feeling the big snap or effortless quality I was back in October but I'm working more consciously on that.
As to round play. I'm playing 2-3 rounds a week at a random… Continue

I played the odds in regards to the cardinal rule of air travel and did not win. I put my bag in the luggage to accommodate a new carry on bag. I pulled out a few of my every day discs (including my putters), "just in case my luggage was lost." When I got to Anchorage I checked for my luggage and was told by the nice lady at the baggage counter that it was checked through to Kenai. Got to Kenai (I'm sure you see what's coming) no bag. Currently missing is my Revo Dual pack and the majority of… Continue

While my intention was to go out and play on Saturday, a small monsoon drove me to reconsider. Nonetheless, me and a buddy went out to Winton Woods in Cincinnati on Sunday so I could begin re-learning the game. I Continue

We ran in to a couple friends and ended up starting with a round of

Played today at Event 3 of the Island Summer series here on Vancouver Island at the Cooper's Hawk Course in Campbell River. As We are aging there are more G.M.'s up and coming. We had about 8 in the mix with Dan and i the only Senior GM's in the field. I threw my PB for the course at a -10, no bogies and 10 birds. Dan was right behind me doing a -8 staying close, ( he's a real pro so I felt real good about my score ). A little lunch break and away we go for the 2nd round. Thru the front nine… Continue

I think I will name her Pinkie. My hubby bought me a 171 champ spider during the Doo Dah and day two went fabulous! she held her lines with just the right amount of fade at the end. I was impressed with the amount of control I had with a brand new disc, minimal errant shots. I did hit one tree eight foot in front of me, but I'm guessing she just wanted a little breaking in action. I was still able to use the old tie dye 166 for a sweet 90 ft putt to save par, so there is plenty of room in my… Continue

This past weekend, I finally got the courage to participate in a tournament. It was the ACT VI
at Wickham Park in Manchester, CT and I entered as a Recreational player or AM3. ACT is the Amateur Challenge Tournament run by Dave McHale who is not only a great guy, but a very active golfer and promoter of DG in the Northeast. Dave is also a webmaster of NEFA
who sanctions over New England.

Last weekend, I proved I still got game & it's about time!
Friday night doubles ROCKED! Neil Killian was my partner (team Neilio-Duh); we found our groove & were both putting lights out. We were six down on the next to last hole & Neil's putt stuck in the facemask for 1 more birdie! That equals 7 DOWN! For a couple of AMS! Hell yea! The winning Pro team shot 10 down. WOW! Did I say 7 DOWN!
I was able to continue the awesome putting most of the weekend. Too bad… Continue

It's been almost a year and a half since my last confession. During the 3rd hole of a 36 hole tournament in October of 08', fate reared it's ugly head. Finally, after all these years of lugging around balls of steel, my back wore out. I managed to humbly finish the day out, somehow still placing in the top 10. Ever since I started playing disc golf in the summer of 03', I have been plagued with injuries. I started my disc golf career throwing my first disc with a busted tailbone. In 2005… Continue
