Well, I have to say, after starting to play again, it is really amazing to see the improvements made to Roscoe Ewing Park, Ohio's first disc golf course. The new bridges, the longer holes, the dramatic pin placements...all of it make Roscoe a serious challenge from even the short tees. Not many easy holes here, but not many plain ones, either. You'll be playing a unique course when you head out there.
BIG kudos to team Jenkins for putting on a fantastic Roscoe's Revenge, as well as… Continue

Was out at kensington a few times during the week, was installing a home theater near by, and got to investigate the new course a little bit and how it will play out. Most of the holes on the west side of the tunnel are reused, but with baskets moved, all fun to play but disappointing to lose a few. Then we noticed the long tee for the new hole one, and where the basket placement was, and it gave the course a lot of hope.…

Lets face it, disc golf is a part of our lives. So much so that we find ourselves here on DGRU reading everything we can about our sport and surrounding ourselves with like minded people. For some life is waking up, possibly eating and then hitting the course. For others like myself those days are gone and we find ourselves married now, maybe raising children and we have to juggle our time spent between our 2 loves.
For this group i am writing this blog today...
For me… Continue

Well I mentioned in chat how i find discs in the snow here in Alaska. The first is simple, spotters and finding cut marks.i like to play golf with my dog stella and noticed that as we walked down the fairway she would walk by the discs buried in the snow ,some times right over the cut mark .I decided to use that great dog nose and the love of bacon to my benefit ,so now we carry a small baggy of bacon grease(solidified of course) and rub a small smear on the bottom center mold mark .then as you… Continue

Funny how sometimes taking your focus off of your game can actually improve your game. I find this site and reconnect with some long lost friends. Amped up I headed out today and played a solo round at my local DGC Riverbends. Now usually my solo rounds are all about serious practice. Today was a bit different. My focus was less about my round and more about the great time that is disc golf. Thinking about the great rounds I have thrown with these and other friends over the years. I let go and… Continue

I was playing a practice round at Sipapu last Friday preparing for the Rio Pueblo Open last weekend when something amazing happened. Now I have heard of multiple aces in a round but mine was a little different. It started with a black ace on hole 5. I threw my putter and it hyzered down the ski run and eventually settled in basket #1. I then aced hole 10 with a sidearm shot with my star boss over the ski lift. An ace and black ace in the same round! I knew it was a sign of a good weekend to… Continue

Hit a completely blind 305 foot ace yesterday on hole #7 at lake wichita park in wichita falls, TX. I am calling it beyond luck and completely BS but I will takeit regardless. I used a 172 Z Avenger SS and threw a big high Anhyzer over a bunch of Texas trees (AKA no fairway) and managed to squeeze through some pines and land in the basket. Mood is happy. PLaying a Tourney in Arlington this weekend, cant wait!!!

I played Greer alone in the heat of the day today and I was awful. I had several putts clang the chastity belt or the top rung, but my drives were truly awful. I spent a lot of time climbing through the crud looking for discs. It was a very discouraging round. But I'll get better!

I met Bill and Carla at Greer today for a round before Greer doubles. I parred all 9 holes on the front. But my tee shot on #10 pulled hard to the left and went deep into the crud. We hunted for it for quite a while before Bill found it. He sat it down for me to play out, but by the time that I had climbed out of the crud we couldn't find it again. I did find a JLS buried back in there and eventually I found my disc again. When Bill sat it down it turned on edge and was nearly impossible to see… Continue

........ we've just built a new course ........ it's par 60 with 4-4's and 1-5 ........ fun but a 2hr. venture as it's long ...... in trying to make it a fair test for all players we have pro, advanced and ladie's and novice tees. In doing so we have found that with the red tees the ladies can score just about on a par with the advanced men. The shortened tees are a good equalizer. It allows the advanced women the ability to compete head to head with the advanced men. Do you think this is good?… Continue

I met Bill and Carla in Travelers Rest to drive up to Asheville along with Brandon and Nathan to play Richmond Hills along with Bob today. I played a terrible round to start off. I threw a 77 total score with a pair of triple bogeys and 6 double bogeys. We immediately played another round and I improved to 69. But I was physically worn out and felt beat up by the course. After playing the rounds we went to rib shack for some excellent ribs, then drove back to TR to come on home. Even though the… Continue

A friend on here told me a friend of his had one and my fiance bought it for me. I can't believe he paid that for it, but he wanted to and I love him for it. Well for lots of other things, but that was sweet lol. I've played with it once ... have to get used to it again. I've only played with it once 'cause my fiance and I got in a bad fight and he hasn't been home in almost 2 weeks. It's pretty bad and I'm really messed up over it, but I hope things work out. I mean, if things don't work out,… Continue

I met Bill and Carla for a quick round at Greer tonight. I was throwing fairly well, but was just a little off. I clanged the chastity belt 5 times and the top rim once. I also was in the on 14 and 16 and in the street on 17 and took a horrible score of +9 for a 63. I'm not sure what happened to cause all of that but I enjoyed the round despite the awful score.

I just signed up the other day and it was also the first time I have played Disc Golf.
I came out to the Owasso, Oklahoma Centiennal park course and tagged along with some people who knew how to play. I was given lots of praise and advice and made to feel quite good about my first effort in the DG world.
I skipped 18 cause I didn't want to risk my new found Driver but ended up scoring around 85 in full. Nothing great, I know, but I did manage to get one… Continue

I got home late last night or more properly early this morning from visiting relatives over the 4th in Minnesota. I called Bill and set up a round in Greer this evening. I was there first and threw 5 discs from the 1st tee while they were pulling in. While I was gathering my discs Bill threw his putter toward the 8th basket, then started talking to a new player and threw another disc around the trash box down toward the same basket. We got ready to play and Bill couldn't find his putter. We… Continue
