On Saturday I drove to the Ann Arbor airport and rented a tiny plane and pilot and took some aerial shots of the park. That finally gives me an overarching perspective of what the terrain looks like right now, not several years ago.
Here is the latest. Interpreted on the ground as things get cleared, it is less clear as to what is a right-hand or a left-hand hole. But this is what I am turning in to the city next week. What were Holes 9-11 are going to be somewhat similar but, from… Continue

For those who are confused by reading my things with DGG and DGGA... and have not found my definition or site link, DGG = Disc Golf Guild; DGGA = Disc Golf Guild Association.
My constitution is as follows (currently):
Our purpose is to assist students in meeting each other with the common interest in the sport of disc golf. To continually promote the sport throughout the campus and through… Continue

since when do we have a disc named after swine?
we should start giving them very avantgarde names... like the next putter be called the 'VULTRON!', and the next high speed driver to surpass the 'Destroyer' be called the 'pussywillow.'
i'd totally toss those discs.

So I traveled A hour Half To Albion MI Today to throw at Victory park.
Its A nice course with some challenging holes and lots of hazards and o.b's
I started the round of badly a good drive but then missed a easy putt and the next couple were just as bad ,
the round picked up and i hit a couple of birdies and parked the 552 foot hole cant remember the number though This surprised me because I max out about 410 or so but it's amazing what a slight incline can make such a big… Continue

It's been a long couple days, didn't get on yesterday due to driving 640 miles (most of the year/trip possibly 2nd most I've ever done in a day) and playing 3 rounds along the way. Woke up at 5 am and lost an hour in the time zone change too.
Big thanks to Sheila Kirkham for putting me up for a couple nights.
Las Cruces, NM- NMSU:
This one is new and wasn't in the guide, but I found it the night before and was glad because it saved me from another 2 hours of driving… Continue

We have a course here in Topeka Kansas that we are only allowed to set up temporarily...It is an awesome course and it would help put us on the map as far as DG goes...can anyone throw some ideas our way to help us out on making Big Shunga a permanent course?

So a few days ago, I got a phone call saying my pro destroyer had been found, so I took a trip up to peru to get it. Since I was in Peru, I figured I'd go play honeybear. On some of the shorter holes I'm starting to use a panther because I drive too far past it.
My dad is getting better, he has a nice s-curve with a champ valkryie and I worked on my sidearm with his star beast on a couple holes.
Did good overall and I picked up a champion monarch
Got some info… Continue

This is just an update from Brett's mom. Brett is a 16 year old disc golfer. He just played in am worlds in the advanced division, and ended up top 75. He was in a bad car wreck Thursday night/Friday morning at 12am. Keep him in your thoughts and prayers as the next few days are critical to keep the swelling on his brain down.
"Brett and Luke Schultz and Amanda (we think, details are sketchy) were in a car accident early Friday AM.
Brett is in the Pediatric ICU at… Continue

So I finally completed my constitution for my club for at the college so it can be approved as of the 1st day of school! I just wanted to post that because I'm proud of myself for not procrastinating! I have so much coming up that I'm involved with, and disc golfing has become a passion to me.
Because I'm a HUGE fan of networking, and some of you probably know this, in our school's 1st newspaper edition, I get to put in an article about disc golf and to draw in members for the club!… Continue

My name is Eric Sears and my PDGA# 36216. I have been playing discgolf now since June of 2007 and I can't stop. Actually let me back up just a bit. I was introduced to the game back in 2001. Emporia, Kansas to be exact. Played for about 3 months. Did a few leagues, and that was about that. Threw a couple of times with Eric McCabe and had no idea who the hell he was lol. So yea back to the story.
I play. I play alot. I play Mon-Fri from 2-5pm at Scottsdale,… Continue

Just in time..it's storming like hell out there now. I played with a local, Jim, who had a hand in installation and maintenance. Thanks to Jim, many recently otherwise unplayable holes are now playable.
Tucson, AZ- Santa Cruz River
Not too well marked, but some #'s and maps available online. Soon to be a map at the course Jim said he's making them for the courses around town. Dual cement tees per hole, 18 baskets. Some tees are Octagonal. Mach-1's are very old. Plays… Continue

Today was just plain rough in terms of disc golf road tripping. 2 courses didn't even have directions, just an intersection. How does that help someone find it from out of town without a detailed street level map? Not to mention the first one had an intersection that existed in 2 places, leading me to the wrong one 6 miles away on the first try! I have fixed this on pdga.com for everyone else's sake in the future. Every course I played today would otherwise be impossible
to navigate… Continue

Over the last couple of months, I have lost some distance and control on my drives and especially my Roc shots. They were not going as far as before and were not turning-up as much as I thought they should be. I haven't been playing much DG the last couple of months (maybe once a week at best) due to family issues and I thought that might have something to do with having a hard time getting my distance.
A couple of months ago I was getting about 430' on my good drives and I was… Continue

I played 9 holes at Holmes this morning. I was still fairly wet and my shoulder is still pestering me some. My arm just felt dead trying to throw side-armed and it's really dead back-handed. I was +1 for the round, but it was kind of ugly. At my skill level there are 4 birdie holes (2,5,6,7), 4 par holes 9 1,3,8,9), and a bogey hole(4). I birdied #2 and bogeyed #4 and #7.
When I arrived there was a park worker checking out the lights for the ballfield and I asked him about the 9th… Continue

Well I desided that I want to share my info on what I throw and how I feel it handles for me. I am LHBH (Left Hand Back Hand).
Let's start with the drivers:
I have 3 Elite Z Tie-Dye Surges. 172, 174, 174 Grams.
These are great disc. In a no wind to slight headwind 5-10mph thrown with a little hyzer and about 70% power they will fly straight forever. I love that you can put about 95% power on them and they will anhyzer for you. When you need distance from 350-450… Continue

It's been a slow summer ... still recovering from the broken leg. It's kept me from playing a lot of the tourneys I usually like to play. Kinda sucks, but that's life.
I've been able to play, and that's good. Putting practice a couple times a day, and at least a few rounds a week. I'll be working on strength and flexibility over the winter months and hope to be back 100% by next spring.
One thing I've been working on is simplifying the bag. The problem is, it's fun to… Continue

For those of you who have not read enough of these already.
We camped at Coldbrook. All the campers, disc golfers and not, were respectful of the quiet hours. That was very nice. I've never had that experience in a public improved campground before, although it seems common in the private campgrounds. Kelsey and Kira caught fireflies and made a fireflyarium out of the picnic table tant thing. We foraged for wood and made one-match fires. We cooked hobo pies and… Continue
