Even though my original ride ditched me, I still made it out there to meet a couple new friends, and play at least 4 holes before giving up due to the darkness and the one guy loosing a disc. Unfortately I did not get to practice my putting today, but I did get to try out my new disc and love it! It's a "Rock-It" disc. It glides really nice, I'm happy with my selection.

Back in Pheonix for the 4th time disc golf related.
Lost a disc on my 3rd hole of the day! After driving across a desert for 6 hours with no A/C, I wasn't much up to even getting out of the car, let alone throwing.
Phoenix (Tempe), AZ- Moeur:
Scrappy desert land, with short bushes, cacti, and all rock fairways, no grass. It will shred your plastic, and there's a wash that was fast moving and I lost a drive that landed under a basket in it. Somewhat blind and hard to… Continue

I was just about head south down to Champoeg when Kuhly called me over to Pier for a couple of rounds. I started poorly with an infuriating bogey on 2, but got it back with my first ever birdie on 9 (40' putt). Par the rest of the way, until a missed 25' par putt on 18 which caused me to settle for a +1 round.
Second round was +2 with bogeys on 13, 14, and 18 and my first ever birdie on 6 long (another 40+ footer).
I've certainly raised my level of expectations for this… Continue

I didn't slide into the finals last night, and I was kind of glad. Played very relaxed, and had a great time. Probably the most fun I've had in a TT round this year, probably because there was zero pressure. Shot a very nice -15 - Kent and Sam tore it up with a -18.
Good thing this was the last week, I suppose. By the time we finished throwing playoff holes and ace pot CTP it was completely dark. Tons o' fun.

My name is Craig and I just moved to Fort Smith about a month ago. I have been a disc golfer for just over a year now and I am totally addicted to the game. I have dramatically improved my drives and approach shots and now I am going to take on serious putting practice. I have already had some rounds below par and I think I can become a contender to win some mini events. I played my first mini last night and shot a +2 and I had never played the alternate tees before. I… Continue

So, because this is my first post on this beautiful site, I believe it would be appropriate to introduce myself. I live in Kalamazoo, MI. which is home to several of the state's best courses, the least of which is what I like to call my "Home Course". Knollwood Park is dirty, there are homeless people that collect cans, one of the hole hazards includes drunken frat kids breaking beer bottles on the basket, and many of our players effectively shun the course because of it's lower difficulty… Continue

Greetings! For those of you who don't know me well enough yet, I just got into Disc Golfing this year... end of June. By the 3rd time I was walking out to a course to play, I had already purchased my own discs! I truly enjoy this sport because I get to be outside, enjoy nature, get my exercise, be challenged, spend time with my friends, and most of the time it costs nothing! (For the record, I'm still a NEWB)
Ok, this may not include them all, but I will try my hardest to… Continue

I practiced my putting today! YAY ME!!!
I've just started playing the sport of Disc Golf as of late June 2008.
I'm currently in the works of creating a Disc Golf Club at the UW-Waukesha campus.
I want to get approval at the UW-Waukesha campus to build a Disc Golf course.
Does anyone else disc golf in their sleep? :-P

\I don't know what to do tomorrow..
Either head to Brian Head, UT or to Flagstaff, AZ
To go to Brian Head I first need to find out more about whether the course is open and whether it's worth climbing a mountain for potentially hours just to tee off. I really want to play it, but if I cant find anything out, I'll have to skip on the risk of going 300-400 miles out of the way for one course which may or may not even be playable tomorrow!
Las Vegas, NV-… Continue

I made the 108 mile drive to Kingman, Arizona from Las Vegas today, passing over the Hoover Dam for the first time. It was pretty cool, just like in Transformers. On the way back, at least 100 mountain goats were by the road and I got a ton of pictures of that and the Dam.
Kingman, AZ- Cactus Flats:
The name does justice, except it should be called Cactus Flats w/ Ants. Flat, full of Cacti of all sorta, sharp prickly bushes, tumbleweed, rabbits, lizards and just an absurd… Continue

The clouds vanished in an instant, so I went and tried to play Freedom Park in Las Vegas, NV
it's so poorly marked I wasn't able to figure it out, and the people hanging around were kind of sketchy. I do not recommend going here, nothing is marked.
Las Vegas, NV- Sunset:
Medium to long holes in completely flat, green grassy park with spaced out trees. Not too tight, sometimes enough trees to make a fairway but usually plenty of room to do what you want. 3+ mandos take… Continue

I'm finally back in town for a bit and still recovering from worlds. I must say, it is an endurance test at Worlds! I played league back home the Tuesday after Worlds ended, and my mind and body was far from disc golf, although I did manage to post a decent 850s unofficial round.
My best memory by far was the mini golf course that Coach Dave set up at our campground. There were only a handful of sites that contained disc golfers, but… Continue

We had another walk-thru this evening and I think we have settled on at least a rough sketch of the 18 holes—long tees, anyway. It's not clear to me how well people will be able to view the image I am posting here, but my fingers are crossed.
This park was redone to change the water flow and flood control functionalities for Washtenaw County. The disc golf course was taken out two and a half years ago and may get put in this fall, probably next spring. We lost some holes to the… Continue

I met Bill and Carla for a round after lunchtime today. We played the shorts today. I nearly birdied #1, then birdied 3,4,6,7,8, and 9. But disaster struck on #5 with a double bogey. I threw a thumber that if it had been a few inches to the left would have been in good shape for another birdie. But when it turned over, it clipped a tree and shot down the hill. It started blowing and raining a little on the back nine and I began really struggling. We only played through 13 before it started… Continue

I drove from L.A. to Vegas today, playing one course 1/3 of the way here. I called ahead to Midas to get new brakes, and had them check out my broken A/C too.
New brake pads 4 wheels+ inspection: 250$
My condenser is leaking and needs to be replaced, I saw the green UV dye with my own eyes (felt like CSI with those goggles on and in Las Vegas), it explains why it doesn't work and won't stay cold when I fill it up. Problem is, they quote about 250$ and Subaru quotes… Continue

Went out to Neosho for the 2nd iteration of the Little Big Show. Last year I won the novice division but this year I felt I should step up to Intermediate.
We had good weather most of the day, it threatened to rain on us a few times but never did. The wind picked up a few times but didn’t last. However, there is a train track, (you can reach out and touch it on hole 14) that runs next to the course and there must be some god awful city ordinance that insists the engineers lay on the… Continue

I hit ace #2 last night out on the Redwood Curtain. I was shooting hole 17 with my pro Classic Roc, it curved slightly to the right then back to the left, I thought it was going too far then it hit a tree branch and droped right in. Luckly there was a group that had just played 17 in front of me and they got to hear it hit and hear me scream. WWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!

The 2nd round didnt go so smooth i went into it one stroke ahead but quickly lost that lead then i bogeyed than double bogeyed and i started to fall into a little slump and lose focus everytime i started to get myself focused i fell back into it ,then we got to hole 12 which is like 375-380ish i was last on the card everyone else had descent drives i said to… Continue

This place is a joke, overpaying on everything for the privilege of getting a sunburn and going 5mph on a 6-lane interstate for hours. I might have been imagining it, but I swear the air at Elysian tasted bad. Tasted. They charge sales tax on warm food but not cold..how weird is that? Don't get your sub toasted at Subway you can save 0.39$. There are something like 20 courses in the L.A. vicinity, only about 5 are worth playing but thankfully a few are pretty good (Whittier, La Mirada, Mountain… Continue
