Well it looks like Colin will be attending his first Disc Golfing event this coming weekend. Although he won't be playing, I look forward to having him at the course with me! See everyone there.

R&D Disc Sports took a day out of our busy week to attend a youth day camp and introduce 15 campers and 2 camp directors to the sport of Disc Golf. A fantastic time was had by all! There will be a write up and photos at www.rddiscsports.com soon!

Today it took 2 1/2 hours to get to and then 2 1/2 hours to return from the course at Wrightwood. I hate LA.
Wrightwood, CA- Sunrise DGC @ Mountain High:
At 7,800 ft. elevation, and easily over a mile above the ground below the top of the mountain, you can see a heck of a long way from the top, cities look like a blur, distance mountain ranges look like bumps in the ground. It's on a ski resort. Rubber and dirt tees, has great signs very informative, no map when store closed… Continue

The Augusta Classic will be a PDGA supertour event September 13-14, 2008, and will be held at the International Disc Golf Center, in Wildwood Park. We will be playing the WR Jackson and Steady Ed courses. Everyone in the area should try to come out and play. Feldburg is signed up
, why aren't you?

Staying at the Aunt's place in Calabasas, CA (north of Hollywood in the mountains).
Hard to navigate is the theme of the day.
San Luis Obispo, CA- Sinsheimer:
Short, blind holes using mostly small trees and bushes as obstacles, easy to throw over usually though. No signs, just a map. Cement tees are short. A small dry creek bed adds difficulty on putting due to float by's and roll aways. Plays around perimeter of park behind baseball diamonds, with a dry packed earth… Continue

I went out and threw a practice round at B.G today it wasn't the best round but it was a solid round I only bogeyed once and throw some different throws on holes that are normally a hit or miss shot so I'll wont have the whole risk reward luck factor to worry about .
The only place i was disappointed about was in my game is my putting which wasn't awful but I had some roll aways and basket hits the shouldn't of happened but i came home and did my half hour and it helped a lot .

The Tuesday Twos
regular season ended this week, and for me it ended with a whimper and not the bang I was hoping for. I went into the week holding onto the eight spot, and finished the evening tied for fourteenth. All I needed was a mediocre -10, and we finished with a -8. Oh, well. It happens. Looking forward to next year already. There's a chance that if a couple of people in the top 12 don't show up that I could slide in. Seems kind of a sleazy way… Continue

I went to not one but TWO courses I have already played today. Both hadn't been checked off since I wasn't keeping that good of a record last time. This posting is brief because I wrote a long one and it disappeared when the site went down, and I don't feel like re-typing it.
*Fresno, CA- Woodward Legacy:
Played it in 2006.
Visalia, CA- Troy Korsgaden:
Well marked (but for the missing #8 tee pad or sign, I searched forever couldn't find a clue about it), cement… Continue

The title says it all. I played a single round of nine holes at Holmes tonight and parred all 9 holes. That means there were some lousy pars that should have been birdies, some par pars, and some good pars that should have been bogeys. It was a real mixed bag!

I've been going through photos of past USWDGC's in Peoria as I've been putting together photos and video for the Women's Nationals - The Peoria Years DVD. Anyway, this was a little anecdote that I remembered from 2005. The picture below of Elaine King is actually from 2007 but it reminded me of this encounter from 2005. Let me start off by saying that Elaine is a true sports professional and I have the utmost respect for her as a disc golfer, a human being and even a Canadian.
I took… Continue

First of all, thanks Becky
for showing me the course and San Francisco, putting me up for the night, food, disc, sticker and entertainment (first time playing the Wii).
I didn't get around to the internet yesterday because the Wii was beckoning, so I have 8 course to write up. Basically went from the Lake Tahoe area to San Francisco yesterday, then from there to Monterey and now to sleep in Fresno before playing Woodward Legacy in the morning. I got to see some giant dead… Continue

Today is the first time that I have played since before July 4th. Some time late in June I pinched a nerve in my neck that has left me a lot of neck pain and also my right shoulder has had a lot of pain along with tingling and numbness from the shoulder down to my thumb. Early last week I went to a chiropractor and he is working on straightening me out. The hard neck pain and shoulder pain are nearly gone but I am still having a lot of tingling down the right arm.
On Saturday I began… Continue

This fellow's name is Richard (Rick) Williams. He came up to me at the 2008 Worlds at the Robert Morris course and reminded me of a story from the first year I played competitive disc golf, in 1999. The disc he is holding in his hand is a key to the story.
I had begun throwing discs around late in the summer of 1998 and enjoyed it so much I decided to get competitive in 1999. Late spring, I heard that there was this big tournament in Rochester, New… Continue

Here comes the first real threat heading toward FL this year. I'm wondering how many FL residents here are ready.
As for my wife and I....we got stocked up on gas for the generator yesterday. All the other hurricane supplies replenished last week and yesterday as well. I also made sure I got a full tank of propane for the grill.
Tomorrow, I will dig up the plywood and hardware and get it ready if fay goes Cat 2 or higher. Hopefully it stays a tropical storm or a Cat 1 at… Continue

I played Bijou again, last and only other time was in 2006. Still my favorite course in this state..and it's only a few miles from the state line. Lake Tahoe is the best California disc golf destination, now with about 5 solid courses within a 90-mile radius around the lake. Truckee, Tahoe Vista, Zephyr Cove, South Lake Tahoe and Kirkwood. If you go out west, that's the place to stop. Gas up and sleep somewhere else or prepare to empty your wallet though, and summer… Continue

Well I have A small dilemma That I could use some advice on .
Bryan Ohio's sunday doubles have been going on for A little while now and we get 4 or 5 people that show up every sunday but They A lower skill level then me and it's random draw and no matter what parnter i get he can be a very new player or what not I still win which isn't a bad thing for me but we only payout top winners because the entry is so low and i asked the others what they thought about raising it so i can payout top… Continue

And to Feldberg for taking it this time..I knew it was going to happen and soon.
Geoff Bennett..nice finish!
I finally played Toney's Mountain Golf (in 2006 I missed it but was in town).
Last time I got up there to camp and play it in the morning. The drive in is insane..9 miles down a road that's more suited to an ATV..straddling deep ruts with big rocks and deep dust on a winding skinny road along cliffs in the middle of nowhere on top of a mountain! I do not… Continue
