Box scores have my Mom at 1 stroke ahead in Am Master Women after 2 rounds, my Dad tied for the lead after 1 round in Am Senior Grand Masters! Chance for husband/wife worlds title simultaneously. Rest well and don't blow it this time Dad!
California style disc golf is living up to last time..hard to navigate, crappy tees, rough courses and blind tight lines. I hope this time it will be better, I wasn't too impressed last time but after this trip I'll have played near half the courses… Continue

So, I went to play Pieradise in Peru, Indiana. for the first time today, because I wanted to get a feel for the terrian before I went for Ace Race.
The course was on its short layout today. So that means that the holes were mostly 170-300 feet, So I had a mix a driving too far and too short of the basket. Had 2 shots were I could have aced.
Somewhere along the way, I threw my destroyer and didn't pick It up, I looked all over for it but I couldn't find it, hopefully someone… Continue

I played a bag tag match at Pier Park yesterday morning and dropped from 25 to 35, but only lost by one stroke and shot a new personal best of +3. I had previously shot +4 on two occasions.
Haven't played Pier for several months and forgot how much I missed it. I hope to get back very soon.

I am staying with Chris (Humchris), thanks Chris.
Weed seems to be the theme of California, not only did I play in Weed, CA, but a guy at a rest stop came up and asked if I had some Ganja? to spare! I knew I was in California.
Medford, OR- Holmes City:
9 baskets with 27 rubber tees. Tees are a bit beat up and torn, but have metal plaques showing #, length, etc. Well marked, has map. On a dusty hill in a smallish park, with patches of dirt mixed with patches of dying grass.… Continue

Well, I have to say that I am impressed by the courses here in the Kalamazoo/Battle Creek area. No disappointments yet and now I have seen them all. (At least the ones I get to play; plus I got to see Timber Ridge from the bottom of the slopes.)
This afternoon, Sheila and I went to Oshtemo (Sorry Ben, lots of poison ivy.) and played with Heidi (from Texas) plus Martha and her husband (Oops, forgot his name.) from western Washington state; they are both here in DGRUS. We threw from… Continue

Tonight my partner and I sealed the deal on the championship for our courses summer disc golf league. Going into the night, 3 teams had a legitimate shot at taking it down, but the standings ended up staying the same as they were before the night started.
My partner and I averaged a 46 over 10 weeks on a par 73 course. 2nd place averaged 46.3, and 3rd place averaged a 47.1.
After opening the first 2 weeks of league with a 50, my partner and I worked our way up and finally… Continue

So in preparation for the big tournament, i am playing a practice tournament.
I am playing at the same exact time and taking the 1 hour lunch break.
Today was the first two rounds, i played them a Redan. I shot 61 and 62. Even though i feel that isnt enough to get it done a Redan, i wouldnt feel bad heading into JP moseley with that. JP Moseley is my home course and I am hoping that the familiarity will play a big role.
Overall i played very consistently. Hole… Continue

Because that's what happens to your skin if you play some of the courses in Grants Pass. Both my hands were bleeding and had to borrow a machete to retrieve a disc.
I didn't feel well today, not sick but a headache and indigestion. Played about as bad as I felt. We'll see what's up tomorrow.
Grants Pass (Merlin), OR- Indian Mary:
Short and mostly open, one tunnel hole and a few with some tree cover. In a campground, busy with kids running around, RV's coming and going. 2$ and… Continue

Nic and I are spending the weekend at his boss' beach house in Greenport on the North Fork of Long Island. As I lay out enjoying the sun this afternoon, I read a copy of Hamptons magazine. On the very last page, there is a "hot or not" list. Imagine my surprise when I came across "disc golf" in the hot column! It's not so hot counterpart was "olympic golf." I took a picture with my Blackberry so it's blurry but still legible. This day became even more interesting when we noticed homemade disc… Continue

So life has been insane to say the least and many of my friends may have noticed my absence from the courses lately.
I took a break to rest my shoulder and begin rethinking my game. I have ventured out lately and the break was definitely worth it.
Where to begin and what to say is what I sort in my head right now.
In the last month I have been let go from my job and accepted a verbal offer for another job. The problem is that until the verbal offer is written… Continue

This is a great tournament host hotel with plenty of open social space and a nice bar and restaurant.
Garrett and Steve and I drove back roads to Kalamazoo in the convertible. Sheila drove her car via the freeway later in the day. GG and Steve are spending the night in our room and will strike off with friends for the rest of the tournament tomorrow. Sheila and I saw an awful lot of good friends tonight and had a great time: the Hardymans, Doc Harmon, Jon Lyksett, Everett, Avery and… Continue

Is as good as it gets for a fun round of disc golf. I wish I had time and energy for a 2nd round but I needed to keep moving.
I met DJ from here at Riverfront and played a round with him there. He's not so bad in person!
Roseburg, OR- Riverfront:
Short and tight in mostly flat, dying grass field full of Oak trees and an equal amount of poison oak blended in. Not much danger to get into, and a few holes have some length. Skips skip hard and missed putts can pick up… Continue

So I have Been doing My putting every night for the last couple of months now and i can say I will and can hit everything within 15 feet and I hit pretty much everything within 20 every now and then I have one bounce out but I'm pretty confident for the first time in four or five years of playing in my putting .
So I have A tournament coming up pretty soon In B.G and it's the first tournament since I almost took last at Vienna and didn't cash Which never happened before so I still have… Continue
