That's how I feel about my putting right now. I have 0 problem with anything 35ft and in. Anything 35ft and in, I can do anything I want with. Put a bush in front of the basket somehow I will find a way around or through. You give me a shot just outside 35ft and I can't seem to pull my head from my ass. Not only do the putts not go in, but they don't even go where I want them to. They flop, they flutter, they dip, they dive. It doesn't make any sence to me. So when I practice outside my 35ft… Continue

So, today was doubles for today. It was pretty fun. My destroyer drives are getting really good. I threw a 270' skip in practice, although no such luck in the game :(.
I noticed that my dx putter doesn't grab the chains well. It fell out more than once.
I managed to lose one disc, x-clone. But, I had a disc diver in my group, and he sold me a nameless champ clear beast. I threw it 270' too, same shot as the destroyer.
I had one serious mishap. They gave me the… Continue

I played 9 holes at Gower today and finished at +2. I bogeyed 2 and 5 and parred the rest. The tight holes were a real struggle since I haven't been playing and it has grown over some. The 9th tee pad is still like it has been since April, so the promised improvements are still unfulfilled. The pinched nerve and my shoulder are still proving to be a challenge.

I played 5-18 hole courses today, beginning around 8:30 and finishing well before 5:00. Ran into the typical problems- bad or incomplete directions, poorly marked courses and a bit of ivy. Lost 1 disc (Z-Crush), found 2 junky discs. I took a short break after the first 3 rounds.
All the courses around here and pretty tough to play when wet! Clay and mud covered tees, fairways, swollen creeks.

If you don't know me, I'm a decent golfer, but I am lacking two key elements, distance, and consistency. Of course one should never discount my strong points including a strong putting game, technical skill, and luck! The last of my strengths have gotten me an ace at Oshtemo on hole six thanks to a luck bounce directly into the basket, a perfect shot directly into hole four at one of the most dangerous courses I've played, Valley Farm Park in Dewitt, MI. And now, four aces on two holes at… Continue

The sun never came out today, it was great because it didn't rain either.
I started out with a bang, hitting 3-18 hole courses by noon.
I planned ahead because I had so much time last time, getting better directions, course maps.
Oklahoma City (Edmond), OK- Arcadia Lake Blue:
It's 6$ weekdays to enter this park, if not for having 2 courses now it'd hardly be worth that high an entry fee, due to the courses being so short and odd, but it was a lot of fun,… Continue

My wife and daughter were in Panama City on vacation at her parent's condo for a week. I got to stay home due to work and lack of free vacation days. While I was home, I decided to surprise my wife with the arbor she had been wanting on the back deck of the house. The deck of my house is about 12 feet off of the ground and I added extentions to the posts to take them up so that the top of the arbor is about 25 feet off of the ground.
While putting up the crossing beams of the arbor,… Continue

I aced #6 at Blackhawk today, playing with Mike and his friend the Indian. Must be nice to not have to worry about poison ivy..as there is a lot here. It was a skip-shot, I called out this better skip big before I stepped on the tee.
Both courses have the same (and bad) directions, taking you to the wrong side of the park and no way to get there without a detailed city map. I fixed that as per usual.
AND GAS IS 3.27$ in Oklahoma City..wow..such a rip-off but hey it's a… Continue

So I watched the Discraft Confidence Putting video and I just completed my first week of practice. Two fifteen minute sessions twice a day, every day.
1 week down 3 to go. The 30 day period will end right before the 4 States Open in Joplin. From what I took away from the video the idea is to *make* putts for a distance where you *know* you can make putts. So I started from 5 steps away from the basket. The first session I doinked 3 in 15 minutes so the next day I stepped back to 6… Continue

I may need to enroll in it after what just happened.
I drove to the course called Westport, in Tulsa to play a last quick round. The directions being bad is besides the point.
Apparently, the course is PRIVATE- RESIDENTS ONLY, for the apartment complex. As I did not wish to rent an apartment there, I had to come back to the hotel. Someone owes me 2$ for gas.
Why someone left that little nugget of info. out I'll never understand. I asked them if I could play, and they said no,… Continue

Today was all about that search for the elusive first tee. I felt like I was on safari, at least the courses themselves were well marked and I didn't have to play safari. It rained for the most of the morning, until after the first 3 rounds. I am probably going out later to knock out a short 9 hole course that says 'no drivers' tonight.
Black/Red Hawk, then Haikey Creek tomorrow.

I played the Wales course today. We just did the front 9 twice instead of going on the back 9 because it was muddy back there. I did pretty well, and I got to try out my new disc, Skeeter! I really like how it feels, I can even putt with it nicely. I didn't keep score the first round, but the 2nd time through I scored a 10, (which for me not playing awhile isn't too bad).
It felt good to get out and throw some discs today! It was a consistent wind today too.
I will be practicing… Continue

So for those who have never chated with me or talked to me before, Im am a part time high school football scout for ESPN during football season.
Well last night I had an assignment to scout a certain player in Griffin, GA and I had a great game.
A little background on the teams that played last night. They are in a small town and there isnt a lot of money to go around either. Both teams/schools share a football field that is located in the county and have for 60 years.… Continue

I have made it..800 courses.
Stillwater, OK- Boomer Lake:
Mix of long and medium holes in a slightly hilly, open park setting nearby a lake. There is only one water hazard, hole #6, a 200' to clear water ace run hole with an alt. tee for those who fear it. A 730' hole playing downhill, with busy 4 lane road on left and park road on right but little to no trees is signature. Poorly marked due to vandals, and hard to find- the directions were flat out written wrong.… Continue

That's right...TWO ACES today with the SAME DISC. The best part yet..I got this disc from Sheila Kirkham just a few days ago and had never thrown it before, it is brand new. It's first flight ever was into a basket off the tee. It's 2nd flight ever leaned on a pole off the tee, and it's 3rd flight went into the basket off the tee again later in the same day! Both aces were about 300'. Hole #4 Lake Anthony, hole #9 long War Memorial. It is a Green ESP Force, 172g. Quite the… Continue

I really hate seeing the top players in the game playing a 450' foot hole, and having it called a par 4. Any 1000 rated player who does not get a 3 on these length holes considers this a lost stroke. It's not comparable to "ball golf" in this respect when determining par, so I think par should be determined by course pros who feel that a good player should get a "3" or should get a "4" on any particular hole and that should be the "pro par" for that hole. I really hate the current formula for… Continue
