My new phone -- LG Dare -- great camera and video

I got a new phone recently when I renewed with Verizon Wireless. The LG Dare. This is a touch screen phone, nice features, great camera ... and takes very good video (only limited by amount of phone memory storage ... I have 4 gigs, and the memory SD cards are removable, so you can have as many cards ... up to 8 gig ... that you want!).

I took some DG video with it last night and it's pretty good ... for a PHONE. I'll take more soon and post some of it here.

Thanks for the generosity, Ed Montano

He showed me the back 9 of Pueblo City Park, his home course he maintains, gave me 2 discs and a shirt. That putter was rockin' today too, flies a lot flatter than my other Crystal Challenger, much appreciated.

Today got really confusing, Lamar had TWO 9 hole courses listed for Willow Creek, both with different directions and descriptions. I thought it was kind of fishy. I was right, turns out someone updated the old one but accidentally added it as a new course. There really is just one 9… Continue

So, I love disc divers :)

I went to the park today to get some more discs from the disc divers.

I got a champ orc for 3 bucks, champ beast for 2 bucks, and a dx stingray for a buck!

I played a few holes, my upshots are getting better. I can come pretty close to the basket form 50-60 feet.

Thats all for now homies. My disc videos should be coming soon.

Anyone in the Kokomo, Indiana area want to come play a round at the course, I can be your guide.

Or I'll tell you… Continue

Tuesday Doubles

So, Yesterday I played doubles at our local course, and it was fun. I got a different partner this time, the guy had a huge arm, was easily throwing 300's (thats alot to me). We had a large turnout at our course, some newcomers came.

I got about 20 mins of footage, so I'll be postin some videos.

Anyways, this new guy comes and empties our ace fund -.-

Forehand Skip-Aced a 250 foot hole, $150 to him.

I didn't win again, but we were 6 under… Continue

The HotLanta expirience. My first tournament.

So I havent been on in awhile, so I thought i would give an update on how my 1st tournament went.

If you have been following my blogs that discussed the preparation I put into the tournament you would know that I set out with two goals in mind.

1) to finish 10 under par or less each round

2) to make the final group on Sunday.

Of coarse everyone's goals are to win, I thought these goals however would put me in position to try and win.

I am… Continue

Long way for just one course

I ended up only playing in Farmington today. Woke up late and did the math, and since the one Durango was actually 25 miles north of Durango not in Durango like I'd assume, it would have been 50 more miles out of the way, leaving me arriving here at 9-10pm.

I got my best MPG ever, since the day I bought this car nearing 3 years ago. I don't know why, but thought that was pretty cool. A full 34 MPG, best before that was 32.5 MPG. It came out of nowhere, on the drive from Farmington NM to… Continue

Holmes - Nothing Special

I played Holmes at even par for 9 holes tonight. I birdied 6 and bogeyed 8 to end up even. I had birdie looks at 2 & 5 and looking at a par at 8 but snookered myself. The pinched nerve is still pestering me a lot although I don't think that it bothers me at disc golf.

Willie Nelson and Garberville

This weekend I got to go to Garberville for a round of disc before I went down to the Willie Nelson concert at Dimmick Ranch. It was a fun course with multiple tees on almost every hole. There were some tone poles, but mostly baskets, with some hanging from trees (very cool). I could see why I had herd varrying reviews from diffrent people I knew who had played the course, as there were varying reviews in my group. I loved it, despite the wind. It starts out with a walk up a huge hill and a… Continue

About me. How I started out and where I want to go. Part 2

Part 1 Here.

Ok I got Wraiths and Destroyers. I will use those backhand. LOL I get some technique down. I was told I had a good looking X Step or Cross Step. I was getting maybe 200ft. I just can't get these damn things to go. I know I'm doing it like everyone else is. I'm imitating all the big arm pro's. GAH %&$*#$ I can throw forehand 400+ but I can't backhand...WHY????

Catching up

On the last blog I forgot to mention the first three courses were on one day and the other 3 were the next day, not all 6 on one day!

Big thanks to Sheila Kirkham and Bill & Sue from Two Gray Hares. Sheila put me up for 2 nights, fed me, disc and called Bill & Sue for me. Thanks to Don also for the snacks.

Bill & Sue put me up last night at their home at Two Gray Hares, a private course they run right between Picuris Pueblo and Sipapu, I played the first round… Continue

Murdoch Park

So, today I traveled out of town to play in Lafayette and the course there was okay. It really wasn't marked, so that took points off of its rating.

6/10

It had duel tees, and the course didn't seem to flow well, so I spent alot of time looking for tees and such. Difficulty was a 2/3. Built for your average player, not a beginner course, certainly, many routes required extreme concentration and skill, and I had alot of luck today. Nothing too long, most around 300'

Star Wraith (175g)

Well, I found a miss-priced Star Wraith at Sports Authority on Saturday night (marked at $6.99) and picked it up for two reasons. #1 It was over 1/2 price for Star plastic here in Eugene Oregon and #2 my online nickname has been for years Wraith (I know, silly newby picking up a disc just for the name).

I have found that one thing seems to missing from all of the disc golf sites. REVIEWS ON DISCS FOR AND BY NEW PLAYERS!!! So this is my first blog post as a newer player reviewing a… Continue

I practiced today!

September 1st, 2008.

I practiced for over an hour today! I spent 20 minutes warming up throwing all my discs. Then I practiced putting for 20 minutes straight with my panther and avair. I went back to throwing only a few discs at a time to really feel the control of the discs. Then I practiced throwing my pro wraith and I got it to turn over today! Some nice s-curves today!

Now I can't wait to play! Hopefully I get that call saying "Yes, let's go throw some discs".

9/6 Update to: More on Big Portage Lake Unit - Waterloo State Recreation Area - Grass Lake (MI)

We spent Saturday morning marking the fairway perimeters for clearing and putting two flags at tees and one at pin locations. None of our Sharpies worked so they are not numbered. Pin and tee locations will change once we see what the fairways look like when rough-cleared. We took to hear the feedback that the first nine were not lefty-friendly enough and after marking the fairway perimeters, I think the back nine will reverse that.

These holes will all be in - the first nine already… Continue
