alright, not really a "pro tip" since I am not a Pro :)
"pro tip" has become more of an internet meme
than anything. and there is no # 1-6. I just wanted to start with # 7 :)
anyway. the Tip is... Stop playing when you feel like you've hurt something!! apparently continuing to play and hope it gets better only makes it worse?! go figure!! haha.
I did something to my elbow several months ago and kinda… Continue

I went to Gower right after work. I only went around once for 9 holes. I birdied #1,2, and 8 but I bogeyed #4 and #5. That is my first time to birdie #1. I nearly birdied #3 but my birdie putt through some branches and around a tree hit on top of the basket. I should have parred #4 but the par putt was very tight. I nearly parred #5 but the 35 foot putt hit the front of the basket. The birdie putt on #8 went in from about 45 feet out. So the round was up and down for me.

I'm on the road working. There are many course I'd love to write down on my bag but because my boss sucks balls; I'm to stick around to hotelroom and wait to see if he would like to work today. I've spent all day in workware and sober staring at the outside and a list of golf in the area. I work for a helicopter applicater service. Mostly we can not work in rain or wind. I love to play in rain and wind. So far there has been no rain in site for the past two days, which is nice because it has… Continue

Today had pretty fair weather, it was cloudy, sprinkled some, and really light wind. Ate a good breakfast for the the long day ahead. It gook 5 of us over 4 hours to get thru all the pro tees in the third round. By the time we got back we only 35mins to go get food (thanx David), when it is supposed to be an hour after the last card. I mean it can take 15 mins just to get out of the park to a main road, cops patrol the place, the speed limit is 25mph, you always see bicyclists and runners on… Continue

I got over being really sick yesterday and not sleeping well and getting hardly any sleep. When I showed up for registration it looked like death warmed over. The day started out with a decent down pour of freezing rain - my hands were damn near frozen. It didn't take long to warm up throwing drives, upshots, and putting. I had to bust out the raincoat and umbrella just to help keep dry. About half way thru the round the rain let up and it was partly cloudy. After the first round the sun popped… Continue

Today I went to the my first discgolf event: Discraft Ace Race @ Edison C.C. Piqua Ohio. I learned about it through the college's email system since I go to school there.
Ususally, between my job and school I don't have a lot of free time. Today I made an exception and decided to give this sport a try.
Today the goal was to get a hole in one (an "ACE"?). The course is around the college's property (which has some wooded areas - which makes it a cool way to get out and… Continue

I called Bill and we decided to hit the Greer course at 5:30. Shortly after 5 a heavy downpour moved through the area and really soaked down the course. But we decided to go ahead and play a round. I was -1 on the front nine with a bogey on #1 and birdies on #4 and #8. Then came the back none. I threw 6 bogeys (11, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 18) to finish at +5. But the 3 of us had a good time talking and we were out playing. Bill hurt his throwing arm a couple of weeks ago and he has started throwing… Continue

We had a really great turnout that evening and a lot of people brought it. Overall this was the best scoring night of season since I started attending. Several groups shot into the negative: -7, -6, two at -5, Luke and I shot -4 (left 5 birdies), -3, and two at -2. It was a hell of doubles night. Usually -3 or -4 wins it. Last week there was a -8 and a -6 that took 1st and 2nd place. Shooting over -4 or -5 in doubles from the AM tees is a pretty good score for a lot of us out… Continue

I headed to Holmes Park for a quick round. I was playing fairly well off the tee but not able to hit 20 to 30 foot putts. I missed birdie putts on #1, #2, #3, and #7. I birdied #5, #6, and #8 to finish at -3 for a 24.My putt on #5 was dead behind a tree and I had to massage it around the tree and into the chains. #6 was a short straight shot and #8 was a straight in shot from about 15 to 20 feet below the basket. That is the first time that I ever birdied #8.

I hit my 3rd ace ever today on hole 3 at West Chester. Earlier this month I hit my first two ever on 9-10-09: hole 18 @ Peters Creek and hole 14 at Kincaid (AM tee pin A)

Just got back from this course recently and it was tough. I got thouroughly pissed off a couple of times as things obviously didn't go right. A lot of trees in the rain forest and tons of high speed wind and rain in the wide open holes. I learned a lot about stability of discs relative to wind and how to play it. This was a tough and frustrating lesson for several of us as far as I could tell. As much as I got mad and bitched about it, I wouldn't go change it as they were important lessons that… Continue

Last Saturday we finished installing 18 anchors into the ground. Sunday the baskets went up and play has started.
July 26 we started building the fly18 tee pads. We excavated the rocky ground and sunk pressure treated 2 X 4's grade level. Then filled the tee with decomposed granite. This makes a perfect fill that packs down hard and flat.
Trails have been cleared from the pins to the next tee. Tee sign are next.....if we have time in between rounds.

Hiestand Park - Madison, WI
September 17, 2009
Prior to this summer, I played disc golf sparingly and very recreationally. Because of this, I have not had as many exciting experiences as long-time frolfers, but today was a new day...
After playing 18 at Vallarta-Ast just down the road earlier in the day, I arrived at Hiestand Park just off Milwaukee St. in Madison hoping to improve on my last score and to snatch that ever elusive first… Continue

Nick challenged Erica to a round of disc golf at Timmons then he backed out at the last moment. I figured that Erica would also be a no-show so I was going to throw a round and head for home. But Erica showed up so we played a round. I didn't play well or poorly and ended up with a +2 for a 56. I was -1 on the front with birdies on #1 and #7 and a bogey on #4. I started the back with bogeys on #10 and #11 then birdied #14 and took my 3rd straight double bogey on #18. Since they moved the tee… Continue
