Just posted two demo's by my band. If you like experimental indie math rock, check em out!
Also got out discin twice this week for the first time in too long. Played T-2 on Monday then got on up to Debary Thursday for an uninspired round at River City Nature Park. Putting was off. Oh well, it feels good to get back into the swing of things. Plus i had to break in some new discs.

This place is just a 9 hole course that we play over and over. It is where most of the recreational golfers to go to play. This course is just mostly upshots, every single hole can be reached by your drive. Anything more than a putter or midrange disc is overkill. What is funny about it, is that you can go from shooting 9 down to shooting plus 5. There are some gotchas about it than can turn you upside down if you mess up on your drive. Some holes are like a prison that are tough to get out of… Continue

Boom boom train with the chili peppers... sweet times! the Gorillaz were kickin' it and NIN was just on the other side of the darkness. Props to Carpet and PeeWee for the sound system; I took advantage of it. My dreds were looking fine in form and my dyes were SIC! I wore a lot of cookie and nicole's dyes (Ponca crew rocks). No dyes from the friz though:( I did manage to snag one of the few frizforever shirts so all is good). Rain, rain, go away; and it did just in time... for the weekend. I… Continue

I set out to win this tourney and get under 200 and I didn't reach that goal. I ended up getting second and shooting 202 for three 1/2 rounds. Had good competition with Chris and Brian as we were all really close thru out the tourney. Chris had an unfortunate hand issue that caused him to DNF which left myself and Brian to duke it out for first place. Chris shot a 54 the first round, I shot a 57 and so did Brian. During the 2nd round is where Chris really hurt himself and he DNF'd after only… Continue

Things to work on to develop sidearm velocity:
1. A strong finger grip against the wall of the rim with your finger pads. Usually this is the index and middle finger pads. This can be done several ways and there are sites with pictures to help you here. The important thing is to use the pads directly into the wall and not the side of the fingers.
2. Use as quick of a whipping action as you can. Keep your arm loose for as long as you can.
3. The whipping action… Continue

I am new to the sport and was wondering if the is a annual trade show or gathering of disc golfers to get up to speed with all of the equipment, courses, etc.? I am in Nevada so something on the west coast would be great! Thanks, Tom

We did one of those Learn to Play Disc Golf things for the kids today. We had about 20 or 25 kids. It was insane chaos. We started 15 minutes late and only had the three of us and five learn-to-play people. We decided to play best shot in a big eightsome. By the end of hole 1 stragglers had doubled the size of the group and we split up into three smaller groups. One of those groups then picked up more stragglers and split again. The main thing was to get discs in the hands of new players and to… Continue

Apparently getting out of the merchlord racket is emotionally trying. I did not anticipate this.
I sold the last Fishy-fishy disc, a Predator, tonight. I searched the spreadsheet using Ctrl-F for fish and fishy and did not find any more. Fishy-fishy was my favorite hotstamp. But, it all has to go. I sell discs. I don't collect them.
I'm giving these discs away for what I paid for them. They are all new and unthrown. Some guy orders 4 or 6 D Buzzzes tonight. He's getting… Continue

USDGC 09 from the perspective of a 978-rated, weak-armed lefty.
I'm happy to say that Winthrop Gold CAN be tamed by persons without the ability to throw 450 feet in the air. It requires precise disc placement, solid putting, and tight focus, but it can be done. I think. Most posts will appear only at
Pictures of the USDGC course and tourney here:

Had league there this Saturday and had fun, we ended up playing 36 holes instead of the normal 18. It is a decent drive out to Girdwood and everyone agreed upon, so it seemed logical to do so anyway. First round I shot -2 with only one bogey and the second round I shot -4 with one bogey. Overall I was happy with my play, but I was really just trying to play without getting a bogey at all. I guess one is better than two...
We did have great entertainment for the time being out there… Continue

Yesterday I played in my second tournament since the Spring Fling. Again, at Veterans Park in Florence. I went, with the desire to watch Billy play, but as I approached the pavilion the excitement and adrenaline actually overtook me and I knew I had to play then! It started off with me having a big head and passing up NOVICE and entering into AM WOMENS. I had a great group with Kathy, Shirley, Machonne and then lil' ole me. FIrst round was fun. I really don't think I played so well but every… Continue

Today for the first time I shot the new course at (Brown) Mary Beth Doyle Park. The baskets are not in yet, but the poles are. It's been something like a three and a half year wait to get my old home course back in the ground. Sadly, at the LAST minute (the day they began pouring cement), the city took away our holes #1-5 by the water, ruining years of planning and designing and hundreds of hours of my dad's hard work. (I had almost nothing to do with the new layout ).
Thanks to… Continue

I have a good friend i play with alot that has a really bad temper .he has only been playing a short time and has gotten really good but playing with him at times really sucks he kicks his bag ,drops the f bomb really loud and generally gets pissy when he manages to hit a tree in a fricking forest.I have spoken to him a few times about it ,but old and bad habits die hard.i played a round with him in a tourney with him a few weeks back and have been to funner funerals.i hate seeing people go… Continue

I find my self not playing well in tourneys, everyone that plays with me scratch their heads when they see me play in tourneys. I give my opponents 3 or 4 strokes on me so then i step in to my tourney quicksand (thats where you try harder and all you do is sink deeper)any advice on tourney prep (mental or physical )that has helped anyone here .it's frustrating to beat people during leagues or pickup games. then have my ass handed to me in tourneys if i could figure it out i could be a real… Continue

Played 54 holes at Peters Creek yesterday and played against one of the local pros and some guys from the advanced division. I came close to winning but threw too many bogies to put myself out: -10 to -3. We were at -7 to -6 (me) early in the 2nd round but then I faded. It wasn't that I choked, I just had some bad shots that put me in spots that were hard to get out of...Peters Creek is extremely wooded and like a prison for those that have never played it.
It was just me and Thad… Continue
