15 miles from Charleston, my GPS just shuts off with the 'blue screen of death'. I don't know why, but I also don't have a phone signal or a paper map of the area. It won't go back on but for flickering like the screen is broken.
I can't really afford and don't want to have to get a new one. I find the hotel and check in earlier than planned. Figuring maybe the car-socket fuse blew for the 2nd time (last was about a year ago at work), I pop a new one in (I carry spares) and it fixes the… Continue

I was lucky enough to take a week or so off from school to help my friend out in Taos, NM build and demo some stuff for his two cabins at 10000 ft elevation. we got a chance to play a bit of disc at a course I love, twogreyhares, owned by bill and his wife.. and a new course in Picarus pueblo that has a few interesting shots, but otherwise as Ben has described it.
I lost my favorite driver, a 12x Wraith on a huge shot over a canyon the first day we played it.
the next hole… Continue

Today was the big day. The biggest day of my road trip, the biggest of my disc golf history. It finally came time for the 1,000th course, and I couldn't wait to get it done.
I got to the IDGC around 8:30, and me and my dad went right out to play the back 9 at WR Jackson for warm-up. I was not happy with my shooting in warm-up, which left me nervous on tee #1 for the round later. After hanging out in the IDGC for awhile, doing some quick interviews, 11:00 rolled around and we headed… Continue

I got my 4th ace on Friday out at Horse Mountain. My first throw of the day on hole 14 (we have two diffrent ways to play this course) with my Star TL, I sent it straight down the fairway and right into the pin. I had a couple of friends with me who had just started disc golfing and they had never seen an ace before, so they didn't quite know why I was so happy. This was my second ace with that TL so I decided before I f&*k it up and send my disc off into the woods I retired it. Now I need… Continue

The Players Cup is only a few days away, and who would know better than four time Tournament Director and Players Cup architect Mike Barnett? Sure he’s busy with the last minute details, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t spare a few moments to answer some of our questions about the tournaments inception, the hole changes for this year, and his thoughts on who has a chance to win the 2008 event…

4 Chico city council members just voted to kick disc golf out of upper Bidwell park. Ann Schwab, Mary, Tom, and Adny Holcomb can have the worst things in the world happen to them, and only them. They voted in favor of restoration of the site. This kicks a group of users out of Bidwell park. Their reasoning was that the environmental impact was too great, opponents argued that other activities such as biking, hiking, walking, and swimming also impact the environment. This sucks, and anyone that… Continue

I got to La Mirada California a day before the tournament, got a little practice in, i shot -6 on the front 18.
The first day of the tournament, i did HORRID. The only good expierance i had on the bottom card was meeting Evan, haha.
Although i had fun, I was upset about my play, i know I'm better than what I did out there.
anyway, in the ring of fire, I was the last person to throw my disc, and the only one to score that time, so that was pretty sweet.

After spending a couple weeks at home after USDGC, Avery and I bought the tickets and flew down to Florida last Friday. Escaping the snow just in time, we arrived in Florida on a beautiful 80 degree fall afternoon. Cliff Stephens was just as we left it last year, with a few exceptions of some cleared out trees and cleaned up shule. The squids were still there, getting discs for the ones not daring enough to wade around in the alligator infested waters, the spanish moss was still abundant… Continue

I woke up to find a layer of frost all over my car, the first of the year. Sure beats back home, as it's now about 60 with the sun blazing.
I just finished rounds on WR Jackson and Steady Ed, will be uploading pics of both (Front 9 only on WR Jackson). Soon heading out to walk Jim Warner Memorial and take pictures there too, get a better feel of it for tomorrow.
Watching "Clash at Renny Gold" now.

No, I don't know what it will be called. That was the name of the ball golf course that used to be there, as well as the apartment complex. But the apartment complex has changed its name. The image below shows the location of a likely new disc golf course on Ford Lake in Ypsilanti, MI.
This is a pretty exciting opportunity. At first glance, I'm thinking about three loops of nine holes coming out from the parking lot, and each 9 potentially linking… Continue

So I posted some photos from a round I played today and boy do I look funny in my follow through on my putts. My hands are both up in the air and I look like I am doing some sort of ugly pirouette. I suppose it's not a big deal as long as I am making putts, but my putting percentage is way to low to look like that right now, lol.

Played a craptacular round this morning for the commando mini (+2). Double at Bear Branch later went much better. (-7). Beautiful day though. Gonna go see 007 now. Good talk.

Today I played 3 of the 4 Worlds 2006 courses (having already played them). The Hippodrome had a locked gate blocking entry, but I could see baskets back there! I then ran into the guy responsible for that at Riverview, and he may be able to open it for me Wednesday and play it, and also a new course there which would be sweet. It's a whole new, mush easier layout I've heard but still anticipating that.
Just finished up my interview with Steve K at Pdga Radio, don't know when that… Continue

Had a great disc golf day today. 1st round shot a 1 over with 3 birdies and 2 close calls for an ace (first in four decades!). 2nd round shot a 1 under, Had a all-time record of 2 under on 17 but threw a errant roller for a bogey. Ended up at 1 under. same 2 close calls for an ace.

Yet another 66 in today's mini. Man I seriously cannot get away from 66!!!!!!!!! Some stupid shot always screws it up. Today it was a short practically gimme putt that I shorted (I wanted to bang my head against the tree behind me). I'm not even trying for a 60 or anything extreme, just a 65 and I'll be happy. I am so sick of 66!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'll give myself a little credit by saying that it was really windy today so to shoot the same as last week when the wind was calm to… Continue
