After a long trip across the country following the USDGC, Steve Mills and I made a trip down to the great state of Texas to play some late season tournaments throughout the south. We stayed with our good friend Robbie Bratten at his apartment in Houston. We planned on staying there throughout the week and traveling to the tournaments on the… Continue

I'm on my way home- effectively done with the tour! I just can't go on, too worn down and not willing to play any more for awhile, I decided I've done enough and should just head home now a week or two sooner. That money will be better spent on AC condenser or a new laptop (this one's screen is dying).
Course count= 1,053
Several more to come, including a few new ones back home.
I am going to drive 350 miles to my grandma's house halfway home from far southern… Continue

The PDGA is adding a new class for events.
This is pretty exciting news for the shorter courses in my area that don't get many events. I'd think that this will encourage many more women and non-PDGA members to give PDGA events a try.

Last week, Wednesday I believe it was, I knew I would have a lot of free time and decided to make plans to play a round of disc golf (you know, wear the appropriate clothing, bring discs, etc.). I'm not sure what set my mood off that day, but I was in a really irritating mood. One of those where you're mad at everything and don't want to do anything else but sit there and be miserable.
I drove around a bit, made a stop at the Co-op and browsed through their discs and finally found… Continue

As winter sets in, the mornings are becoming brisk. The crowd gathers, anticipating another challenging round. What? No entry fees? No baskets? Yes, this is the essence of Sunday Mornings at Sonoma State. Where disc golf may not have been born, but where it still flourishes in its basic form. Object golf on a college campus. Manicured lawns. Landscaped grounds. Relaxed rules. If you are too high strung about your game, then don't bother showing up. It disrupts the peace and tranquility that is… Continue

Used my new 900 rating this weekend in Ypsilanti & entered my first tourney in Am2.... 4 strokes off the lead going into round 2 & pulled out a victory by staying calm through the storm so to speak. Couple inches of snow fell during the 2nd round. Good start to the move up eh :)
PDGA site is down right now & round ratings weren't up earlier today, I'd assume they're both pretty good. I was less than 5 strokes I think from the Am1 winner.
Ace pool... I couldn't… Continue

Today was great!
I got to work uber early to make sure that I could slip out in time to meet Ben Calhoun out at Middle Creek DGC in Cary, NC. I knew it was going to be rather chilly but the wind just made the blood freeze in my hands. I had to compensate my putting style and aim more to the left of the pole because my hands were so cold. It was great meeting Ben though. From the sounds of what we talked about and what he's seen over this past year I'm sure he'd make a great course… Continue

Now I begin heading towards home instead of away on a daily basis, and may be there in a week. Tomorrow is Durham area, still making plans.
Thanks to Mike Inscho for meeting me at Middle Creek.
Zebulon, NC- Zebulon:
A more typical park course, with a few 600' holes to raise the bar. Begins and ends with a creek across the fairway. A 600' downhill tunnel in the woods and another 600' more open along a fence and some tall grass patches between the woods. A few… Continue

Some info on Murph's Disc Golf Course, which is all laid out... I just have to put in targets (Who wants to donate baskets?) and some tee markers this spring.
It's on my dad's property in my hometown. These measurements are just guesses, until I get my rolly measuring tool out this spring. I say basket in my hole descriptions, but they are most likely going to be metal poles.
Hole#1: 225 feet- has a concrete teepad (the driveway) and goes over the side yard. The fairway is… Continue
