For those of you that don't know (but I think you all do), I'm getting married to Marsha Fisher on pi-day '08. For those of you that don't get it... that's 3.14, or March 14th, 2008 at 1:59pm (3.14159...) Yes, we're both big nerds but we're cool with it. It'll be taking place on Bald Head Island just off the coast of NC where her parents live. We're both pretty excited but have also been engaged since August 2005. We're ready.
We also just bought a phat house in Erie, CO in July which… Continue

So, I made a post a day ago on here stating that I was easily better than all but eight or nine guys in our local community. I named three guys that I thought were better than myself. So what happened today? I went out for doubles and got paired up with one of the three guys I mentioned. I got paired up with Chris Hoyle, actually. If someone asked me who the best player in the area was I would say it was him. Naturally, I catch him on the day one of his cars is in the shop and his other car is… Continue

Played the local clubs sunday doubles league at Vienna Park today, 35+MPH winds gusts are not my favorite type of weather to golf in, my wife was in a car that was overheating & my thoughts were consumed with that. I putted crappy, drove crappy & wasn't even paying attention when my partner went OB & I followed him as he's screaming at me to not make the same mistake, we ended up -4 & leaders were at -5 (my bad woj) To give you an… Continue

this weekend was filled with battles. ignce and i battled a 12 of magic hat then we battled in dubs at hudson where my partner and i came out victorious over ignce and his partner. we also never let them have the tee pad. then we battled the winds today at kensington......weak shotting overall....

I've noticed something as my game has continued to improve. Suddenly, I'm not one of the guys just hanging on in my local community. As recently as this spring I was one of the guys really hoping to pair up with a top player at Sunday Doubles. Suddenly, it isn't that way anymore. I'm still hoping to pair up with one of the other top guys, because that'd be a sure-thing win... but now there are people that actually want me as a partner, that are excited and hopeful when they get paired up with… Continue

Thanks for inviting me to the site! It looks like fun!
I moved to my current residence in late November, 2001 with the intention of putting in a private disc golf course (as well as raise a family and so on). The house is on 20 acres on the north side of a drumlin (glacial feature) on the edge of the Kettle Morraine about 50 miles north of Milwaukee. The 'Ashford Pines' as been an evolving process, with two baskets being purchased in 2002, another 2 in 2003, 3 in 2004 and the final 2… Continue

The hardest part about winter practice is all mental. It is hard enough to get out and spend an hour working on your putting during the summer when it is 95 degrees out with high humidity, but when you have the urge to get out and thrown you can slip on some shoes, grab your putters, and just do it. It is a completely different story when winter comes along.
It is coming up on midnight and I haven't been out to putt today. I went to the gym and played basketball for two hours instead.… Continue

My Name is Chris "Smokey" Hoyle (Nickname relates to the Big Lebowski)
I was Born December 29th 1977 in Blythville, AR
I started playing disc golf at the age of 14 with my uncle vernon in Lebanon, T.N (cedars of lebanon state park) I wasn't immediately hooked, I played on occasion for fun & owned a Gazelle, a Shark & an avair. I didn't really get hooked on the game until 1996 when I moved back to TN and started playing My Home Course Henry Horton State Park near… Continue

so I'm trying to establish an electronic ladder for my local course at Bluemont, and hashing through a bunch of rule revisions as the different playing experiences fly at it. Here are the rules to date: If you have any feedback it's more than welcome.
Bluemont Ladder RULES
- You can only challenge players within 10 ranking steps.
- If you defeat a higher ranked player (including all their strokes), then you…

I've never been good with websites like these so let's hope I can succeed at making at least a mediocre looking page.

2008 is almost on top of me. Another year gone by. I'm happy with my year. In January, when I was just a ~910 rated player starting my second year of competitive golf I made a promise to myself that I would get to 950. By my calculations when the ratings come out on January 29th, 2009 for the 2008 calendar year I will be at 953. Not bad.
That said, I've started playing in the Open Division. Trophy Only right now, because I can't afford full entry. Once 2009 rolls around I'll start… Continue

I don't really have a blog anymore. I mean, on MySpace I post my fiction for feedback, but thats about it. I tried to start a disc golf blog at one point, but it didn't work out. It wasn't very interesting. I have a strong memory, and the posts turned into shot-by-shot accounts of my tournament rounds. Boring, right? Right. Nobody gives a damn about every shot, just the ebb and the flow. The emotion and the physical details of the world. Maybe I can turn this into something like… Continue

WOW…what a night to be outside playing disc
golf! Balmy would be an understatement. I had my gloves on for only 4
or 5 holes. T Warner was shedding layers like the girls at the
Lumberyard. All in all, we had 18 people show up this week. The hot
round of the night was a 6 down shot by none other than Huey. A couple
more putts and he could have bested Kuito’s top round of the season, a
feat which Eric feels is unattainable. See you next week!

Temperature was in the low teens and there were still over 20 people
who showed up. I wasn’t sure if some of the newcomers would still be
willing to play in the freezing temps, but obviously they are. Kuito
and Cookie tied for the hot round of the night at 4 down. I made at
least 5 putts outside the circle but could only manage to shoot 3 down,
missing a 20 footer on the last hole to tie for the lead. Both bounties
for a deuce on 18 and a bogey-free double digits… Continue

Record setting attendance at over 20 people. It was awesome seeing the
valley lit up with red, yellow, and green lights everywhere. Kuito came
in with the hot round of the season (to date) at nine under. I made it
interesting during the middle of the round, but Kuito had a solid
finish deucing his last five holes (11-15). Matt Redding (TC Night
Golf/Moondog founder) took home the CTP
on hole 15 with a thumber. This was the first week playing… Continue

Attendance was huge for the first week of the 07/08 Moondog season. 18
golfers made it out even though temps were in the low 30’s. Dano
Johnson had the hot round with a bogey-free 7 down. Biggs was nipping
at his heels and finished with a respectable 6 down. Thanks to HED
for moving 16’s basket to the short position. Ace pool is growing fast
with the large turnouts and hopefully will continue to do so. Can’t
wait until the snow starts… Continue

My notable accomplishments include finishing 6th place at the 07 am worlds, and having the ability to throw well over 500 feet. My pic is me throwing across the lake at Winthrop after the USDGC distance contest. I also work at INNOVA.
