After being turned down due to public access for the Deer Ridge course we set our sights on Soldier Springs.

We walked the 55 acres and started focusing on the 30 acres near the back of the property. We next designed a rough layout and played the course with a temporary basket. After that round we decided to make a few changes and redesigned four or five holes and played another round.

For Christmas Eve I played 3 putter rounds at the local pitch and putt.  Most people who play at my home course make fun of it but in reality they just do not appreciate the history of the location.  Located on the east side of Monroe, LA, it is one of a few remaining object courses made for frisbees back in the 60's.  The "baskets" are somewhat large concrete "cups" in the ground with most shots ranging from 180-245 feet.  With an exception of a few younger cats like myself, the course is…

Wingfoot's disc golf course, they will officially open it on Thursday, August 26th at 4:00, with the public ceremony to follow at 6:00. They are looking for people who are interested in being the first to play the course on its official opening. (played it already and your going to want to play this course for sure nothing like it. The blimp landing while putting...Awesome!!!)

So this past weekend I played a tournament June 21st. This tournament was sanctioned by the PDGA but due to the city owning the baskets and not the club that hosted the event the course could not be closed. Throughout the tournament there was casuals backing up holes slowing the tournament down. If you left any disc behind they would be taken by the casuals. IMO any course being used for a tournament should be closed to the public. When I am playing in a tournament and have paid cash I should… Continue

So I made it out to IIT 9 hole course on campus.



first, everything that people complain about is true. the course is short, there are a lot of people around (not playing), and you are playing in between buildings.



on the plus side though its straight south of my house. walk to the corner, get on bus, wait 10 minutes, get off bus which drops me off at the first tee.

I thought I'd just share views on the different things that help me improve at this game. I'd like to see more of this kind of thing from other players who are better than me (which is most of them.)



When I practice, which is once I week these days off the course, I don't simply go to an open field and see how far I can get the thing to fly anymore (just far enough for par, right). Instead, I find an uncrowded public park with lots of space and lots of trees, and practice executing… Continue

Ever wonder what a disc golf course would look like after an F-2 tornado hits it? ...wonder no more...



The course at Riverside Park in Hammond, Indiana got a direct hit Monday night. The tornado wiped out my local power grid except for my cable. I am currently powered by a generator and anticipate the same for a few more days.

Thanx a bunch to all who came out to help get the course in shape last night. Your help is very much appreciated by lots of folks you don't even know!!
