Deer Sighting

More storms rolled through the state on Easter Sunday, so the course was dreary this morning until I came up to the basket at hole 10. A white-tailed deer was stirring, startled no doubt by my futile basket-thumping as I tried to birdie-putt. I stopped, watched him bound off, and serenely and cleanly hit chains.

Always Something New!

This morning's round was chilly but bright and clear, with a lot of dew on the ground. An average round, til I got to hole 10 and heard the distinctive sound of a woodpecker. I was able to locate him and discovered he was a pileated woodpecker-the first one I've ever seen! And another great start to a beautiful day!

As windy as Kansas!

Storms rolled through Arkansas last night, bringing rain, hail, and tornados. The course in Russellville survived just fine, but the wind was blowing like crazy this morning! But, like they say-shut up and throw!

LSDiscs Capital City Classic

What a wonderful weekend! The weather was windy, but the company and the courses were awesome! Thanks to all the LSDiscs guys and their families for two rounds of tough disc golf. And a special thanks to Neil for putting me up and putting up with me!

First mowing!

As I came up out of the woods to the 12th tee this morning, the broad fairway ahead of me was gorgeous! The Parks department does a fabulous job, considering we've had 5 inches of rain this month. The water here tends to stand patiently on top of the ground, waiting to slowly seep in. So you may slog through, but the ground itself is not squishy or slippery. Mostly. Sometimes it runs off into temporary rivulets and waterfalls, down to the lake. It was windy today, making each shot a thing of… Continue

Arkansas rocks!

This morning was gorgeous! It was chilly enough to wear light thermals under my sweats, but the sun was peeking up and the sky was cloudless. I saw a bald eagle soar off as I rounded the curve on the first hole, and a bluebird as I came up out of the woods to the 12th tee. What a way to start the week!
