Priorities ... family, fun, and work ... in that order.
My wife just took a job as Film Permits Officer for Yosemite National Park in California. We're expecting to move out there the end of February (or at least get her out there to start her job). I'll be wrapping up our home here in Carbondale Colorado for rent/lease and then heading to Northern California.
Being the only graphic designer/web designer ... designer period ... here at the office has taken too much of my… Continue

Due to complications at work and the current economic "panic" ... I'm not going to be able to fly out for the St Louis Open this year. Really irritating ... but my common sense has won.
Trips like this are expensive and the additional time away from "work" ... meah. Maybe I'll be self employed by mid-summer. Kinda hoping so.
Sorry I'm going to miss this event ... I was really looking forward to it.

I'm planning on flying from Aspen to St Louis for the 2009 St Louis Open. Hoping to get 6 days off to visit family and friends in the area. My nephew lives in Brentwood, and if he and his wife are up to it ... I'll be staying there. They live about 15 minutes from tournament central, Endicott Disc Golf Park.
I had a great time playing the four courses last year. Sioux Passage, Creve Coeur Lake, Jefferson Barracks and Endicott, and hopefully, will be a little better prepared for these… Continue

My red Sonic broke at my last tourney. I'm looking for a heavy, max weight RED DX Sonic. If anyone sees one please drop me a line. I can't seem to find any anywhere.

Face Your Manga
I found this site through a design feed. I think it's pretty cool so thought I would share it.
It's free, and you can create custom avatars and email them to yourself. Make as many as you want.…

Love playing in the wind? Well, you missed one heck of a windy [1st] round at the 2008 CO State Championships. I can honestly say I have never played a windier tournament round of golf. To top that off, the course at Palisade River Bend Park was lined and dotted with OB that made the locals cringe. It was so windy that branches the size of trees were ripped from the old cottonwoods along the course. Tournament directors postponed the second round on Saturday to be played on Sunday when more… Continue

I got a new phone recently when I renewed with Verizon Wireless. The LG Dare. This is a touch screen phone, nice features, great camera ... and takes very good video (only limited by amount of phone memory storage ... I have 4 gigs, and the memory SD cards are removable, so you can have as many cards ... up to 8 gig ... that you want!).
I took some DG video with it last night and it's pretty good ... for a PHONE. I'll take more soon and post some of it here.
I think this… Continue

It's been a slow summer ... still recovering from the broken leg. It's kept me from playing a lot of the tourneys I usually like to play. Kinda sucks, but that's life.
I've been able to play, and that's good. Putting practice a couple times a day, and at least a few rounds a week. I'll be working on strength and flexibility over the winter months and hope to be back 100% by next spring.
One thing I've been working on is simplifying the bag. The problem is, it's fun to… Continue

Having a birthday on such a huge US holiday is weird. Everyone is partying and blowing stuff up. They're all happy and glad to have a work day off to do fun stuff like barbeques, hang with family, watch the fireworks, etc.
I had a very nice weekend, pretty mellow, played some video games and hang out with my wife Cathy. It was a nice weekend. It's fun to get a few things from friends and family. I scored some nice Huk Lab clothing and a few $'s ... Sweet!
Monday was back… Continue

Looking around the site at pages that people have made, I notice a lot of folks trying to get their pictures to "fit" in the top of their pages. It looks like many put the picture in the BODY BACKGROUND, and this doesn't work because it's behind the theme header backround. You can change the background image, that's fine, but unless you know how to make a small tiled image, it often looks kind of clunky.
IF YOU WANT A BANNER, upload your image in the HEADER BACKGROUND, second… Continue

Colorado is well known for it's surprising weather changes ... We found out just how dramatically it can change last weekend, at the beginning of the 2008 Colorado Open, May 10-11.
I woke up, got my stuff together and prepared for the short drive to the course. It's great to be at home and only have a 15 minute drive to get to the tournament. I did my warm up, and then some putting in the yard. The sun was out, and there were only a few fluffy clouds floating in the sky. After my… Continue

Colorado Open starts today with doubles at 4:30 PM. I'm not going to make it over for doubles because my wife has the car tonight (girls night), but that's cool, if I can't play CMC well, then ... I suck! ;)
Weather is holding pretty good. I expect a few showers tonight, and maybe some tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully it will be like today, and any moisture will hold off until late afternoon. Sunday weather looks to be good.
I'll be playing Pro Grandmasters with some of the… Continue

Well ... if the most fun wins, then I would have to say I was one of the big winners at the St Louis Open. Sure, my scores could have been better, but for the most part, I played OK considering it was my first time playing any of the 4 courses used (in their current tournament layouts).
Our first day, the weather was challenging, with fairly high winds and a little rain. The Advanced Grandmasters started Saturday morning at Sioux Passage. This 8500+ foot course is big, and long. It… Continue

I flew from Grand Junction CO to St Louis on Wednesday night. Interesting flight coming over the Rockies ... probably the bumpiest plane ride I have ever taken. We landed just in time ... I was about to blow chunks.
Denver to St Louis was casual. Arrived, and was picked up by my nephew Adam and his fiance Chris. Spent the day Thurday at my sisters house visiting my folks and family. Great time.
The weather is a little intense today. Thudershowers and some wind. I'm going out to hit up… Continue

4/5/08 MHDGC Spring Fling held at Johnny Robert's Memorial disc golf course in Arvada, CO.
This was my first tournament since CO States in October 2007. It is also my first tourney since breaking my leg in December '07.
I played Pro Grandmasters division. This was my first tournament as a Grandmaster, and my first tournament playing pro. There were 5 players in our group, Peter Shive, Michael Hendler, Larry McCourt, and Gary Kloberdanz. Gary was playing up from ADV Grandmasters,… Continue

Well, I think you can expect these progress reports to start coming a little more often ... and I think they might actually have a little more to do with PLAYING
disc golf ... rather than thinking
about playing disc golf.
The bag of RED discs was out in full force this weekend. Saturday 3/22 I drove over to Palisade CO to catch a group of GVDGC members playing tags. I was a little late, but caught up with the group playing #10. Joined in on #11. Guess I was being pretty… Continue

It doesn't feel like it's been a month since my last post. That obviously means I've been working WAY TOO MUCH!
PT is going well. I make it to the gym a few times a week, get some heat, ultrasound, massage, do a work out, get some ice/stim and so on ... not as much fun as playing golf, but it's better than watching TV every night (except for LOST which everyone knows is the best TV show ever).
I played a DG course today for the first time in 12 weeks. It was just our… Continue

Injury Progress Update:
I started PT last week and it's going well. Got permission to start driving the car (it's a stick) and toss the walking cast his week.
I've been putting every day ... and amazingly enough, feels like I never stopped. Yesterday I hit 6/6 from 30 feet several times and was probably hitting about 80% from that distance. I think that might be a little better than I was putting before I got hurt (except I can't jump put yet, and my jump putting was HOT… Continue

If you're wondering ... I came up with the nickname "Boneman" because our hometown [Carbondale] is called "Bonedale" for short ... so, Boneman.
Having recently broken my leg playing disc golf, some say the nickname is more fitting now. I have to say that having been a climber for well over 30 years, I never broke a bone ... However, I have nearly died several times from other incidents.
I grew up in a small town in Missouri, just north of St. Louis [where I was born]. I lost my… Continue

OK, so ya'll know I broke my leg recently. It's healing well, and I'm on my feet walking without crutches. I'm still wearing a boot cast for a couple of weeks, but it was sure nice to slip on a real shoe this evening after work.
I was wondering if my DG Karma was in check after such a silly accident. Well, today I got my answer. Just got an email from Uncle Joe that I won the Grand Prize at the 20th Annual Real Ice Bowl. That prize is a new,… Continue
