I just spent half the day with an orthopedic surgeon. I got more

x-rays and then a CT scan. In the end, he determined that surgery was

not necessary. This was based on two different reasons. The first

being that the displacement that he would try to fix was only 1 mm and

it takes a displacement of 2 mm before they deem surgery necessary.

Just after Christmas Shawn and I went to Squaw Valley in Tahoe for 4 days of snowboarding. Mid afternoon on day 1, I took a pretty good fall. I caught the heel side edge of my board which pulled me down backwards. I was wearing a helmet thankfully, but instinctively I put my hands down to catch myself. Instantly, I was nervous about the impact. I sat up and actually just sat on the slope for at least 5 minutes.
