I got out there around 10 am to miss the coming weather and played the first round pretty well with some wind but the 2nd round after noon was brutal. The wind increased and I was happy to play the short tees for the entire round. Although I lost two discs I still had fun. I was able to play certain areas of the course I did not know existed because the wind carried several throws off target and no where close to the intended target. I had to go to Columbia and Greer for work and was able to play 10-18 at Earlewood 2/17/09 and the new configuration at Century Park. Earlewood was great fun as always for a quick 9 hole round on the way to Greenville. I think the changes at the Greer course were great. The back pad on #12 was a great addition I thought and I really liked #16 across the creek and I am looking forward to playing there again when I am up there. Early January 2009 ATL trip 1/8/09



For the first time in a couple of years I did not play the Savannah Open. Instead I went to Atlanta for the Gift Show with my wife under the condition I could play some disc golf on the way from Charleston to Atlanta. I was able to play five courses I had never played before and enjoyed all of them although one course was a short 9 hole with 9 tees that only took about twenty minutes to play. I played the temporary course on the way back home from Garden City Saturday and it was marked pretty well with a restroom but I was the only person out there. The parks dept did a good job for the temporary course on about 4 usuable acres (Bay St Park which was flooded completely during Hugo and did considerable damage to nearby houses) looking out over Winyah Bay. What a great weekend and tournament. Thank you to all who made it so great including Jonas, Trey and the guys from Innova, the CDGC and everyone else who participated. Great to meet and play with some great people and see old friends. I just wish I was not under the weather a little for both the Summer Sling and Charleston Classic but nothing was going to stop me from playing. What crazy weather here in Charleston over the past few weeks. I played to the basket placements this morning at Hampton Park and it was around 60 and windy and rainy. Since the first of November I have played to the basket placements at Hampton Park several times and the temperatures have been between 38 and upper 70's. Hopefully we get good weather for the Charleston Classic this coming weekend because today reminded me of the Sunday of the 2006 tournament without the cold.

Looking forward to more golf after 4pm everyday the rest of the spring and summer. I am headed to Spartanburg and Greenville this week for the last time on a consistant basis for work. I hope to play Boiling Springs Monday afternoon thanks to extended day light and TImmons the rest of the week.

I played the entire 18 last Tuesday and I loved it. The woods, elevation, creek and teepads are fantastic. If you are anywhere near Spartanburg or I-85 it is worth the trip. If you have children, it is also nice due to the playground with slides and such. Great job by the local club and town on the course.

I went to Columbia yesterday afternoon and played Earlewood and it was in good shape in spite of all the rain. It was a bit cold but dg always beat work no matter what the weather is.
